cant find my grave...

so, i jumped into a system and was suddenly in a space battle. some pirates attacked a frighter.

so i decided to help and killed the pirates. but i guess at some point i friendly fired someone and then suddenly everyone shoots at me. which is really stupid btw so im never gonna do that again.

so i died. but there is no marker. i cant find my grave. all my stuff was in there. some atlas ball and 700 or 800+ nano thingys.

im playing on normal mode btw. so how can i get my stuff back? how can i find my grave without a marker??

Don't know if you hit a glitch, but a few times I would have to continuously rotate in all directions until the grave marker showed on the direction indicator. Felt like lost it as well.

I read somewhere that pirates sometimes loot your grave and it consequently disappears. Never had it happen to me but then again, last time i died was a long time ago and the updates may have introduced some changes by now. There's always the reload last save option. Just create save points frequently and it's all good.

I died recently the exact same way (in normal mode). My grave marker appeared instantly and I got all my stuff back.

It could be buggy or perhaps there is a chance of pirates looting it as Cookie Monster mentioned, I don't know.

Maybe you never had it happen to you because its not a feature. The only time there are no corpses are when you play on survival.

Don't you lot ever get tired of all these make believe features that are nothing more then bugs and glitches?

Having a bad day are we? I would rather consider different possibilities as long as i don't know any better then to jump to unproven conclusions like you just did. With a sample size of about two space deaths there's just not enough to make a judgement. And i doubt that anyone died often enough to make a judgement either.

No matter, the outcome is the same - reload.

Hi there,

I have never not had a gravestone show up. Sometimes it took me a bit to find where I had actually died, pirate theft is not a feature, and that would leave it to being a bug. I would not think it has a despawn timer either.

Your best bet if you really can't find your gravestone, is simply to go back a save before the freighter defense and your death.

I would also submit this as a bug on a ticket to HG.
