What happens if i dont create the new Star?
So i just reached the last Atlas interface and i can now create a new star, but what happens if i dont? I know that if i create a star i will be able to see black holes and one of them is marked. Is it worth it to create one and can i name it or choose how the new solar system will look like?

Nope you can't name a star you create. And nothing will happen if you don't create a star

No you should not do this

You can not get any Atlas Stone after you sell them, you can only rebuy them for 2mil each

If i dont sell them and dont use them for the creation of a new star, for what do i need them?

The Atlas guided you. Gave you warp cells and language words. Told you nice enigmatic tales. Even taught you to see black holes. And all it asked for was his stones back. Now you want to cheat him out of his stones for some quick profit? You're mean!

so what does the Atlas need Travellers to create new stars for anyway.... feels an awful lot like a con man saying "just sign here and I'll take care of everything, you don't need to worry about it."

At this point we don't know, but selling the stones now could give you troubles if they expand this on a new update.

And that is the only reason I took the time to do all achivments, learn all words and do everything else that can be done. I would hate to miss out when (if) the portals finally become active just because I skipped something.

Not sure why you'd want to sell them after collecting them all. I mean, if you look at the big picture, that's not really a lot of money.

Wouldn't you rather have this?

Nada marks a single black hole, which typically will jump you further than normal black holes... but the fact that it's so close to the current system where you found Nada, that added distance can be negated by warping to a system 2k LY closer to center and using a black hole there..

Of course, you won't be able to tell which systems have a black hole and which don't if you chose to return to the galaxy without birthing a new star..

Selecting the option to birth a new star is what triggers the game to highlight all systems with a black hole on the galactic map. They are indicated by black points of a triangular target, similar to the red atlas target or blue waypoint target. Again, these only become available after birthing a new star. If you chose to sell the stones instead of birth a new star, you will have to find black holes on blind luck and Nada only.

Ive always given the stones so I cant confirm it, but some people say that denying the birth will allow you to detect black holes anyway.

Ok, so i decided to create the star. The possibility that they could expand the game and give it a deeper meaning or some new features that you can only use if you created the star convinced me.

Just saw some Atlas stones on sale yesterday for 2.9 million each, which if memory serves is way more than you get if you sell them. I traded mine in but seriously considered just selling them too.

I only had 8 stones and had accidentally sold 1 (9 total) when the Atlas Interface asked if I had 10 stones. I was released from my quest and sent on my way. I still wonder why it asked me if I had 10 when it was impossible for me to have that many since the most I could accumulate would have been 9. I have picked up 2 more since then at over 5 million credits but I haven't bothered to go back to a Atlas Interface.

I have been busy doing more important things...
