What's the best weapon to install for the multi-tool?

I really like grenades. They one-shot most anything, they can dig you out if you get your exocraft stuck, they can dig a shelter if caught in a storm. It takes a while to get them in good shape, you need damage and homing mods for them to shine as a weapon and radius mods to dig.

A lot of us like the mining beam, maxed out with all the upgrades. It's a killer weapon for taking out sentinel drones, including the dogs. Add the grenade launcher with the theta and tau intensity upgrades plus a couple propulsion upgrades, and you can blow the door on a manufacturing facility with one shot, and two shots will take out a big walker. Maybe one would do it but I don't like to mess around with them. I always double-tap them just on general principles. Here's a shot of one of my multitools, organized the way that works best for me:

Yeap i went for mining beam with full upgrades and grenades. The grenades i only use to make holes for cover against hostile weather and the mining beam works well enough for getting materials and fending off hostiles too. Although im more of a explorer trader than a fighter in the game :)

I like the mining beam maxed out too.
Plasma is one of "the" top techs for me when it comes to "ensured survival" - shelter almost everywhere, quick against agressive sentinels/animals, easy looting on iron, carbon etc. AND low recharge costs!

For what I am doing: Grenades and all upgrades for it. One Shot One Kill. Cannot get any eaiser.
Then, max upgraded Mining Laser for faster grinding.

I didnt have room for any laser weapon upgrades after all the grenades & mining stuff.
