(Haha, your third step is good! I wonder how you would do that even if your gun was working :) , but is your lifesupprt not depleting when you walk/jet around? I never tried it, but this might be a way if you think about going in THAT direction.)
Hey! thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion, but no luck. Still stayed outside the freighter. Lately, been trying to wiggle thru the floor and close enough to my ship so I can hit E. No luck there either. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nothing is depleting so looks like life support will last just about forever. Also, it was the grenades I was thinking about for possible self-kill. Don't think that would work tho, even if I could launch a few.
Since I glitch directly to the exterior of the freighter I have no access. I cannot even see the cube rooms I built! And yes, I did try that spot :-(
You said you´ve tried to "wiggle thru the floor" to reach your ship with E. If you do something like that close to the back of the freighter and since you are in some kind of "no mans land", maybe you can place another save point thru the wall or the door that you were able to build at one point and try your luck with that one?
One last thought from my side: There is also a way to remove base building restrictions in the game. I don´t know how it is done, how complicated it is and if it can be used maybe temporarily to build a way back inside your freighter. I´ve seen people "expanding" their freighter bases to the outside with landing pads etc. here in the forum; maybe something worth to check out...
Other than that, good luck on monday! Trying out other game modes until then might be nice. I wonder how HG is handling something like that and if you can keep your current savegame progress for the most part...
That you did not build a save point is likely a good thing. I did it (Normal mode, btw) by placing a planter tray and then sticking the save point in the trays bed. All this worked fine in my planetside greenhouse.
Good suggestion about a new save point placed thru a wall. However, I can't seem to get it to take. Anything that I can build seems to get sucked into another dimension, ie, disappears. Anything I prev built is invisible.
I know about editing the file to be able to expand ones base. I've tried it both on and off against this problem without effect. There doesn't seem to be a separate freighter-base setting.
I do hope HG can help as I worked too hard to get what I got and don't want to start over in Normal. IMO, Permadeath is not rewarding and Creative is fun, but a playground; maybe Survival. Maybe it's time to go back to Elite Dangerous?
Thanks for the help ... good suggestions. I will try again tomorrow,
That's the root problem... freighter bases don't support saving and funky things happen when you try... at best, you're locked behind the airlock doors that won't open and let you out because they first have to be opened from the outside as you're entering your base... Unfortunately, unless you have a backup of your saves somewhere, you're going to have to start your game mode over... :(
