You don’t lose any money when you’re spotted or force restart after taking the easy way out - unlike the pac standard. You restart at that checkpoint with whatever money you had on you before you got detected
The main difference is that in normal mode, for completing the elite challenges, you'll get 50k bonus, and 100k bonus in Hard mode.
It's also much, much easier to stealth, (submarine, drainage tunnel entry, main dock exit, fast and easy. Need a bit of training but generally you can do the time limit, stealth requirement and bag requirement very easily. (even more if you're two)) and you don't run the risk of dying and / or losing money to being shot at.
TL;DR
The only difference is elite challenge and lower take due to damage taken. So basically, if you can, stay in stealth all the time, and if you get spotted, just suicide and retry (unless you're at the end of the heist (right before escaping) just run and don't waste your time restarting)
No, you can do this either in stealth or loud and still get elite if you meet all three objectives.
As long as you have a plan or a realistic approach for loud (ex. Velum drop near compound and jump off the cliff for underwater exit + air support) then it should be doable
Not really, making a quick restart after you suicide or die will make you permanently lose a part of the loot if you had any, but only once. I can confirm this happening in every cayo perico heist with 2 or more players, unsure for solo.
You're both wrong, the elite requirement asks you to not get detected while in the compound, check the wiki. Should you get detected after leaving the compound and respect all the other requirements, you'll still get elite challenge.
No, we’re not “both wrong.” Have you even played this heist? The requirements for this heist are full bags, no failed hacks and completion within 15 minutes. It does not matter if you do it silently or go in loud at any point which is why you can equip a heavier load out and have demolition charges to blow open the compound gate.
The wiki itself has many errors and isn’t a reliable source. For instance claiming that the woman Trevor holds hostage in Prologue is Amanda when evidence proves the contrary
No ♥♥♥♥ sherlock, I should've been clearer, but it does matter.
You need to not get detected in the compound IF you use any entrance but blowing up the main gate. The only way to do it elite in loud is using the explosive charges on the main gate plus the other requirements. Should you use any other entrance and getting detected in the compound, you'll fail elite.

That’s not a “source.” That’s based off of a Redditor’s comment.
Try it yourself then, mister. I never got elite after getting caught in the compound and making it out, despite doing all the requirements.
And of course I never blow up main gate.
Burden of proof rests with you, and detection is not a condition to fail elite.
Too entitled to doubt of yourself but too lazy to check it out personally, typical.
Where did you get the assumption that I’ve never done so? How am I “entitled”?
You’re throwing claims without giving proof for any of them.
