It's not worth the full price if the only thing you want is low level clearance and easier access to free base vehicles. It's only a slightly more convenient location.
You also never get a wanted level when you're on a mission. If you're doing hangar work, VIP work, any mission really, you can fly over zancudo all you want, wanted level remains zero.
Best hangars are in LSIA, not only because they're much cheaper and closer, but because the runway is simply not obstructed, you can come in from any angle and land comfortably. Zancudo has crap everywhere, including those rogue poles / street lights, which at night are the easiest thing to hit with a rotor blade.
I own the tank and lazer. Its easier to access my hangar in LS unless you job teleport which seems boring I guess. IMO both locations are nice but theres not one objectively better one unless you dont have a lazer or tank I guess.
Rhino is borderline useless in 2020 GTA Online and it takes 20 seconds in any 160mph helicopter (akula, volatus, swift deluxe) to reach zancudo from Los Santos, jump out and parachute on a Lazer if you want one for some reason.
What doesn't take 20 seconds is breaking even with hangars worth 2.7 million (like 3499 which is what most recommend). I did 33 loooong missions to unlock most aircrat trade prices (more if we count deliveries), and even during a double pay / 50% discounts, i couldn't hit the 760k i payed at LSIA, forget the 1.1M workshop. I just took the loss.
By the same math, 3499 will take some 70 missions to get anywhere near breaking even, at 2x and 50% off purchase. Full price and no bonuses, hangar 3499 will have you do 280 missions to see your money back....because of a 4 star wanted level one gets once a month, and can avoid by being on a mission or simply gaining altitude on an aircraft, which also denies it.
But to each his own, i reckon.

I also have chumash and all that, and again, even from a yatch anchored in vespucci beach (you can anchor a Yatch right behind chumash bunker) its 20 seconds in the Swift Deluxe, 30 from 8-bit arcade on an MK2 which is fairly slower but gets the job done.
The more central location of a Hangar might have been relevant if the payout for anything hangar related wasn't 3 levels below miserable. As it is, my Arcade has payed itself off faster (and completely passive) than an hangar, that is all hands on, active work.
But we already exchanged 2 or 3 posts on this, was good, take care.
edit: game currently windowed at 800x600 but there ya go https://i.imgur.com/If9XAG9.jpg
edit2: went back to grab a second one, both pics have 4 stars so you're sure thats not my PV https://i.imgur.com/lV5IF7y.jpg
All those army kidz hang out at FZ thinking they are so cool. Avoid that hole.
Incorrect. You get 4 stars if you enter the base without owning a hangar. You get two stars if you own a hangar and steal a lazer, and you get shot down with homing missiles and explosion rounds if you had 4 stars for at least 10 seconds
Nope. Most of them are in LS and the army at Ft. Zancudo is a deterrent. LSIA is the yard for PvP, money drops, etc.
Due to location, clearance, accessibility to Lazers, etc. Fort Zancudo is a clear choice for the hangar. I wouldn't change hangars though unless they have a discount
lol at this. It's the complete opposite, Zancudo is always chill, LSIA is often infested with pvpers, kids and people doing car meets which notoriously attract griefers and modders.
