Call of the Starseed FAQ: Have a Question? Start Here!
Pimax support is currently unconfirmed

Q: What is The Gallery?
A: Rather than a series of similar, short experiences released over a single year like most episodics are, The Gallery is a series of chapters that continues to build forward over time. Call of the Starseed was a launch title for roomscale VR, and is the first entry point to the series.

Q: Yeah, but, how long is the game?
A: Call of the Starseed is movie-length and usually takes between 1.5 - 2.5 hours depending on the player, varying largely due to the openness of VR gameplay.

Q: Woah, this music is awesome?
A: Our Original Soundtrack is composed by the legendary Jeremy Soule, while the credits and trailer music is by electronic producer Le Matos. The Original Soundtrack is currently available as free DLC to all owners of Call of the Starseed on Steam.

Q: What if I’m of the Oculus Persuasion?
A: The Steam version of Call of the Starseed includes an additional launcher for native support of Oculus Rift (the same as you’d receive if you bought it on Oculus Home). If you would like to opt out of native Rift support to reduce your file size, simply right-click the game in Steam and select Properties > Betas > openvr_only.

Q: Ok, what about a PSVR version?
A: Because The Gallery was built for roomscale VR, porting the experience to hardware such as PSVR requires a bit more effort and care. But, if you’d like to see PSVR support sooner rather than later, please let us know in the forums!

Q: I’ve got an Iron Stomach; does this game support traditional locomotion (aka Stick Move)?
A: As a launch title for VR, Call of the Starseed had to ensure player comfort as the technology reached mainstream audiences. Cloudhead became a pioneer of VR teleporation with "Blink," the default locomotion in Starseed, back in 2015. While Blink remains the default for its cinematic feel, we're currently looking into adding traditional locomotion options in a future update.

Q: Are there accessibility features?
A: There are puzzles which require some physicality to solve, but The Gallery is at first an exploration game, and not an action game. It is designed to consider varying player skill and ability, and we're in the process of adding various skin tones and gender-neutral hand sizes in the settings to ensure immersion for all players.

Q: When does the next episode come out?
A: The Gallery - Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone is out now:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/526140/The_Gallery__Episode_2_Heart_of_the_Emberstone/
Q: I was a Kickstarter backer and have a question about my pledge?
A: Email us at support@cloudheadgames.com with the email you used for the Kickstarter and we'll be happy to help you out.

how do I move (rift touch controllers). I understand the idea of blink movement but have no idea how to do this with my controllers. I can open the menu, make a fist, and no other buttons do anything

...should say moving the control stick does nothing either. Do I need to troubleshoot something (if so could anyone help) or am I misunderstanding movement ?

Hey E_Dreamer, sounds like you're using the Touch controllers in SteamVR, which means you'll need to click the stick in to Blink. If you want to use Stickmove, you'll need to change the option in the settings.

I'd recommend that you check out this thread to download the native OVR version: http://steamcommunity.com/app/526140/discussions/2/1483233503862164451/

That way you can just push the control stick forward (rather than click it in) with Touch to teleport!

Thanks for the quick reply Thermyy, I'll try those out

Please add free locomotion. Is there any rough ETA for this?
The soundtrack is awesome, especially the end credits. But this track is not part of the DLC. Any chance to get it?

The credits track is not original to the game, but you can get it on Bandcamp! It's called "King's Filth" by Canadian electronic duo Le Matos. Link[lematos.bandcamp.com]

I don't know how to use the "Blink" with the Windows Mixed Reality conroller. There's no cursor or dot to look at. So, i can not move. I'm stucked at the tutorial.

Don't have my controllers on hand, but iirc, you click in the thumbstick.

Has additional locomotion options been added yet? FAQ hasn't been updated since September.

The update was delayed due to technical complications within the project. Blink teleportation is the only option in Starseed, however free locomotion is available in Heart of the Emberstone.

Still no analog trackpad/thumbstick free locomotion? Will this ever be available?

It's hard to convince people to get into this game as the "First Chapter" that introduces the story is so clunky by modern VR standards. :(

I don't mind it too much for long distances. But for ever little movement it's really annoying.
