The patch was 20mb dude. But this game files are very stupid, so every time there is an update it patches the entire 80gbs of files. And the speed of that is determined by your cpu, not internet speed.

The 80gb patch is due to how files are stored in archives. So the entire archive have to be patched and verified.

The update itself is 28.5 mb, the reason you're seeing that is because the whole game gets repackaged while installing said update.

This is the second or third time I've had the whole damn game reinstall to apply a tiny freaking patch.
Wtf are they doing? I have not seen a single other game do this to my recollection.

Iv had a few games do this. Remnant 2 was one of them, I'm pretty sure.

Dunno why some games do this and why some don't but its certainly annoying, especially with giant sized games like this.

If you made changes to any of the files in the depot, the checksum won't match, and it will think it can't apply the delta patch. So it re-fetches the whole thing:

base.cpk
bin/crash_handler.exe
libcurl-x64.dll
METAPHOR.exe
PhysX_64.dll
PhysXCommon_64.dll
PhysXCooking_64.dll
PhysXFoundation_64.dll
steam_api64.dll

Most games using delta patches will have the data and executable in separate depots to avoid this.
