Constantly opening the satchel

Why is Indy stopping every few feet and opening the satchel at the beginning of the game? It's getting ridiculous and I don't get any prompts to pick anything up or take anything out. Every few feet!!

Possibly. I cannot remember if I did or not, but I don't let Steam start on boot up and I installed the game pass game on my hard drive and accessed the shortcut from my desktop so I wouldn't have thought I had Steam open. I cannot say for certain but you are probably right.

I am playing on PC Xbox GamePass and was having really dumb issues with it thinking i was using a keyboard and a controller. It kept opening my bag and equipping my gun and walking with my bag open. I WANT to use a controller. I read what @The_Primary_Axiom said about steam and was like OMG this is a Steam thread but I did have steam open from an earlier game, and this may solve my issue. Needless to say, closing Steam Fixed my issue with using a controller on Xbox GamePass PC. My controller works perfectly fine now with Steam closed. THANK YOU!

I was so damn confused. My left joystick was doing what the D Pad was supposed to do. While also moving me forward. When I would stop moving the onscreen display would show the Keyboard and Mouse buttons to press. But when I was moving it would show what the xbox controller buttons were.
I am playing on PC Game Pass. But had steam open in the background. Once I saw the comment from KPalm80. Completely closed out of Steam. And the game just worked.
