Does using the flashlight take batterY
More specifically, does using the flashlight on the seamoth and seaglide use extra power?

No, not on the Seaglide/Seamoth.

None of the subs or the seaglide use any power to keep the lights on. Which on the largest one is just about the only thing that doesn't drain power from it.

I once left the lights on my seamoth on and left it for exploring, after i came back about like 2 points were used and that's really nothing

Short answer: Yes.

The lights on the Seamoth, Seaglide, Cyclops, and PRAWN consume a nigh-negligible amount of power. This is only a disadvantage for the PRAWN as, to my knowledge, there is no way to turn them off on that particular vehicle.

The main reason you want to turn off lights when leaving your subs is that the lights attract various predators. Bonesharks, Crabsnakes, and Reaper Leviathans are definitely attracted to them, but others may be as well.

A depleted battery can be swapped out and used to craft something that requires one.
