Skyrim did have its moments but it was such a rush-job with the factions.
There are no survival mechanics implemented as far as I can tell. There are the same properties that you can buy from the original game. You can steal, get arrested, spend time in jail as you could in the original game. Your choices, as far as quests go, can have impact to the world, but nothing overly dramatic. Ultimately the story is fairly on-rails as there is really only one ending to the main questline. Magic is the same as the original game, which is to say, a bit dated compared to Skyrim. You still have the ability to make custom spells, I believe, in the late game.
I would say, if you haven't played the original, the improvements are enough to make this a fun, modern experience.
World seem empty just like the original.
Voice, they adding new voice actings.
Balance, terrible. I though they would have rebalance this. 20 second for bound weapon or armor is just not worth it. Same for summoning creature too.
It has Survival mechanics, like thirst and hunger?
-no
Can you have your own home base?
-yes
Can you steal and get arrested, spend time in jail?
-yes
Your choices have real impact in the world and storyline?
-similar to skyrim
Magic is cool, with fun spells?
-magic is better imo + you can create custom spells
dark brotherhood questline was trash in skyrim wait till u meet the ....nevermind
Skyrim and Oblivion are similar in gameplay, but very different in player character building. Skyrim is fluid, while Oblivion is closer to classic fantasy gaming with attributes and classes. But Skyrim falls hard in writing and quests. Oblivion's writing is multitudes better than what Skyrim ever got.
OG Oblivion and Remaster have some very nuanced, but impactful, differences in gameplay. Many of the changes in the Remaster are the additoin of QoL features, like the color-coding being added to the speechcraft minigame. The worldbuilding and quests appear to be greatly unchanged.
You'll only get survival mechanics with mods.
You can buy a house in almost every city.
You can steal items and get thrown in jail.
There is only one ending. Your choices don't have any impact on the story in any Elder Scrolls game. Your only real choice is how you play the game.
Oblivion is far superior. The only thing Skyrim had on it was "it's newer and more shiny" and this remaster solves that.
