How do I switch from Integrated to Dedicated GPU with Intel?
My game keeps crashing and I think it has to do with the notice whenever I boot it up where it tells me to "switch from an integrated GPU to a dedicated GPU".

I have no idea what that means and I can't find a hotfix for it or an option in the Intel Graphics settings.

It means you need a nVidia or AMD graphic card. Unless you are running it off a gaming laptop that lets you switch between integrated and dedicated GPU, you're probably out of luck.

I just said I can't find a hotfix for it.

Next time you want to tell people worthless advice, go do it somewhere else.

The graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 4400.

that would be your integrated graphics card, do you have a dedicated one at all?

You are out of luck then. Intel HD Graphics is not a dedicated graphic card, it's just a chipset. You need an actual dedicated GPU; either an nVidia GPU or an AMD GPU.

Just so you understand better, a GPU is a physical piece of hardware, not software. There is no patches or hotfixes. You need to go to a store and actually buy it if you are running this off a desktop (if you are running this from a laptop then you are really screwed). However considering that most likely this is a prebuilt over the counter PC that you are trying to run the game on your power supply unit might not even be able to handle a new GPU so that's another piece of hardware that may need upgrading as well unless you get a cheap graphics card but the game may run poorly if you do that.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't have one at this point.

Shoot.

Well, thanks anyway.

well I know this arrives very late and at this point you probably deleted the game or you already have the solution. But I found a youtube video that can help you play the game. It works on my notebook so, maybe works for you too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgBh5JhZB5c the loading screens take a little time tho

No idea, I just ditched the notion of playing it on the shared comp and just saved up for a personal one with a different card.

You could probably install a different graphics card if you're not using a laptop, otherwise I'd just play it on a different computer.

Its possible that it doesn't even have a dedicated GPU.
rightclick on your windows icon and open device manager.
Check under "display adapters"
if it only says Intel HD 620 then you only have integrated graphics.

No worries though, the game should run just fine on low settings.
Also make sure to set your resolution to something like 1280x720.

I added custom resolutions in Intel graphics settings:

856x480
1024x576

for Intel HD 3000 @856x480, all in-game graphics settings had to be lowest except for draw distance.

setting it lower than lowest using console command:

scale set MaxDrawDistanceScale 0.5

Intel HD 4400 @856x480 can have some of the in-game graphics settings turned up
