Its not taking away from the development time so why don`t you just chill Your noodles and let them work. Apparently some people would like some merchandise and are asking for it. Im not really one of them but I dont mind if the Fun Pimps are getting a bit of extra cash for current and future development of games.
Im glad they dont just say the game is finished and ship out a game that doesnt work or lack features to keep it fun. If you like those kind of games you can always play Fallout 76.
This is more of a priority thing. You don't release merch for something that's been in Alpha for 5 years without releasing any real fixes to your game (at least not ethically) .
Even if the designers/shirt printers/sweat shop kids aren't the same people that code the game, the money that goes into designing/producing/distributing these shirts could've been spent on furthering their product, rather than releasing a new one.
Chump: "Im glad they dont just say the game is finished and ship out a game that doesnt work"
Me: Uh oh! Looks like someone didn't know about the Launch, and physical copies! :D
Looks like someone doesnt know how a "good" Community Game works, like Warframe. :D
