The answer is here:
https://community.7daystodie.com/topic/19225-possible-to-turn-demolisher-off/
Or you can find it here too:
https://community.7daystodie.com/topic/15031-claymores-modlets/
And in case you need help on where those files go here's a link:

If you want to make the change yourself, the easiest and least intrusive way to approach this would be to just make their explosion and melee attacks each do 1 damage. That would make them harmless bullet sponges that still spawn. This would involve changing two numbers, and take about 15 seconds
Making them actually not spawn at all would involve changing all 148 gamestage spawn groups which include demolitions zombies, and be a lot more prone to mistakes. Which is why I suggest the much easier change.
Hell ya that definitely works. How do I do that???
Go into "Data", then "Config", then right-click "entityclassesXML" and choose to open with Notepad.
Once that's opened in Notepad, click "Edit" at the top and select "Find".
type or copy/paste this text into find:
<property name="Explosion.BlockDamage" value="5000"/>
You can change the 5000 to 1, close and save...done.
Future updates to the game (even small ones) have a chance of resetting this back to default, just so you know.
It's a good idea to copy/paste a backup of the original XML file somewhere safe before making changes, then also make a backup somewhere safe of your changed version so you can easily use it again if an update reverts your changes.
We had about another 6-8 of them come through that destroyed our steel walls.. we had to retreat to a nearby building... what a waste of time.. not sure why anyone thought they would be a good addition to the game. I want a challenge not to rebuild an entire base every horde night.
thanks..
has this changed? I can not find that entry whats so ever.. in the xml file.
If you're looking manually in the EntityClassesXML, this is almost exactly halfway down the page....Says it's line number 2075 if you're looking at the line/column info on the bottom/right of Notepad.
Damn dude way to necro this post. We had the game on max difficulty.. I have no idea what our gamestage was but we never used any mods or cheats just a local P2P connection. Now we are playing Undead Legacy and we nerfed the hell out of demos so they do 10% of their original damage.. still bullet sponges but just can't wreck our base in one explosion.
