2.0 will require to ditch my save?
I stopped playing for years due to having to restart every so often. Wanna know if this is going to happen or how can I avoid this or even if its worth starting on 2.0 again with some help of creative mode to catch up (I won't grind again)

Usually you would want to use a game version that is the same game version of the world save you want to play but plenty of small update versions will still load and play slightly older saves with little or no issues at all. For example I loaded a version 1.2 save in version 1.3 with no issues. Basically if the main version is the same you will likely be able to load, and play, with no problems. Loading saves made under Alpha 16.0 through 16.3 with game version Alpha 16.4 would likely be fine, but not an Alpha 16.0 save with game version Alpha 19.0.

You can download any previous version of the game using the Steam console (you can google how to do that if you're curious), and many previous stable versions are available in the betas tab on Steam which can be found in the properties menu for the game.

Right click on 7days in your lib.
Select properties
Select beta tab
Select V1.3 stable

The game shouldn't update until you select another version (or "none") later.

You never really had to, or have to, restart. Why? See Mithrandir's post above. You can roll back to a variety of different stable versions of the game so you can keep playing those older saves.

You will probably want to restart at some point, though. Playing past about day 70 gets pretty repetitive as you will have unlocked everything, combat will generally be fairly easy at that point even with the "special" zeds showing up often, and will need no new armour, guns, tools, etc. since you will likely have the best items you can possibly obtain.
