So no matter what they do they have to make future updates savegame compatible.
But huge patches that will f your save file... and they will recommend to wipe anyway.
It also makes sense to wipe in this game to not have bugs.
So in about 2 wipes and 1-2 more years it's maybe finished. IF THEY FINALLY ADD BANDITS AND A STORY.
Good news.
Then I guess I will give it a shot again.
So what you are actually saying is that the game won’t have any more significant updates because they are clearly incapable of that and they will blame Microsoft/Sony as to why the game can’t get any more updates.
Yup that sounds like TFP alright.
Then it will just be a situation like "If you want the new features you'll need to wipe, otherwise you can continue on" because I'm pretty sure some of the changes they are going to make will require a wipe. Even something as simple as new POIs require a wipe in order to see them.

yes.
Q: Save incompatibility between console versions? Also, will there still be Save incompatibility between patches?
A: Due to the technical architecture of 7 Days to Die’s game engine, users will have to start a new game with each major update. Eventually, this will not be the case.
I have not seen anything to change this in any of the new documentation.
If you want future content, which is definitely planned, you will probably have to start a new game to get the new stuff. But that will be your optional choice at that time.
fyi - The game has a history of almost never deleting player progression unless the player chose to do so, by opting into getting the "latest" build, or an "experimental unstable" build, or specified you didn't care ("none"). Players generally have a choice of continuing in their current world or getting the new stuff in a new world.
