Sharing land claims impossible?
Hello! I started to play 7 days to die with my gf it's a lot of fun so far. but this kind of makes no sense.

How come my girlfriend nor i can pick up items such as generators/workbench that we place ect? I can if i place a claim block, then she can't... and honestly the tediousness of this is excruciating placing mine, placing hers placing mine just to setup traps...

Surely theres a better way than this we dont know about? thank you. we play on "multiplayer" from the menu and i invite her through steam

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. Have to manually unlock all the chests I place so that my coop partner can access them, even though we're in a party.

They should make it so anyone that enters a key code on the claim block has access to everything inside the claim. Kind of like the tool cabinet in Rust. It makes things a lot easier. (As long as you don't mind sharing all your loot with everyone in the group)

Why not set those two LCB's next to each other for a monumentally sized base since you play together?

I think you just need to team up. Hit I when you're both in game, send invite for both, friend and allies.

Land claim block areas should not be allowed to overlap. So any particular station would either be on her side or OP’s side of the base.

Yeah. It’s been a while but I think being in a party is meant to address this need.

Yeah definitely. How would you build together, if not sharing the same claimed area. 🙂
Least works for us. And I also think lcbs can also overlap if your in the same team.

I thought party/friend/invite still didn't allow my partied/grouped friends to pickup benches/stations I placed within my landclaim area...at least not when we tried it.
Is this because they also need to place their landclaim within the same area (which I thought was blocked by the first-placed LandClaim, but could be mistaken)?

No, only the owner (or put different, the one who placed them) can pick them up. Regardless if you're a team mate or not.
I could well be wrong about the overlapping of lcbs but I'm pretty certain we could have multiple in the area.

just tried to place mine on top of hers, won't let me. and we don't exactly want to live side by side, we like playing literally together and sharing everything :(

Yeah, I was going to say, placing land claims within other land claims hasn't worked every time I've tried with my coop partner, even while being marked as allies and grouped in a party. We ultimately just had to go with one land-claim, with that person managing the controls for all the stuff in the base. The other player could only place/pick-up their own bedroll.

I dont think this will solve the " everyone can place/pick up everything " issue but what if....

You set the land claim blocks to have a smaller radius ? Less claimed blocks PER land claim block ? That would at least allow you both to play in the same area

Or do a " main street " approach. With smaller land claim radius make a center line of painted blocks as an imaginary dividing line. Everything on the left is hers, the right is yours then just code all your boxes with a 4 digit code you both easily remember.

That gets you close and being allies you can both use/access everything EXCEPT picking up the others benches.

Its not perfect but maybe it'll hold you both over until the Pimps do something or a modder does.

Or just ask in the modding section 4 a fix.

If you're going to try an place LCB's as close together as possible... you'll need to go into the game settings (prior to continuing a save) and be sure 'deadzone' is set to 0 / none. Otherwise, there will be a certain amount of distance land claim areas need to be apart.....you won't be able to butt them up together. Also, yeah...the purpose of an LCB is to 'claim' an area so others can't take your stuff. So, no....you can't put another LCB into an already claimed area nor can anyone else pick up your stuff. However, if friends are 'friended' in the game as allies and then joined into your group (both people need to send each other the join request and accept) then they should be able to use workstations and chests--owner does need to unlock them.
