Where is a good source of eggs? The hit rate for eggs dropping from nests is......ooooh, maybe 1 egg in 5 or 6 nests, if even that high, its pretty abysmal overall. I search vendors and find a few. Past that, where else can we find em!? Lack of eggs is holding back cookin up my dessert dishes. Not that im suffering a food shortage in game, but just wondering where is a good place to find eggs in any kind of worth while quantity. Ive even gotten my lucky looter to like rank 4 or 5...

Traders actually are the best source, I've found. Although your loot percentage will have an effect on how many eggs are in nests.

Best bet for eggs is traders and hope they are selling some because at least then you can get a few all at once.

I don't think there really is any one good area to find eggs (I to know the pain of having to hold off on cooking projects . But if you think this is bad wait until you get to the later options as peas, and to a lesser extent beef, are now my golden geese).
The snow and burnt biomes are good places to search simply because while nests are everywhere they are far easier to spot in those biomes thanks to the lack of long grass everywhere.
If searching any building that has normal access to the roof it's a pretty safe bet you can often find a few nests up there.
