Book Perk "Lucky Bastard"
Hey guys,

so as far as I know the rate for zombies dropping loot in A19 is around 2%. The only way to increase this I've seen so far is the bonus perk "Lucky Bastard" which you get once you got all 7 books of this category. The descriptions says:

"Enemies have a higher chance (20%) to drop loot"

Does that mean the chance of zombies dropping loot is now 20%, which means that the average drop is once every 5 zombies or does it increase by 20%, which means the rate is only 2.4%?

For me both sound pretty weird. 20% is way too high IMO but only a 0.4% increase for finding all 7 different books of "Lucky Looter" seems like a joke, especially on multiplayer.

According to the 7DTD wiki, it's a flat 20% chance for each zombie.

Okay then, thanks for the information. Although 20% seems pretty high. That'd be a times 10 multiplier. I guess I need to test it out in singleplayer.

based on my experience, without lucky bastard perk, I only received about 1~4 bags from bloodmoon with 8 zombie default setting. after I earned perk, i get about 9~12 bags per bloodmoon now.

Hmm, I've had all book perks unlocked on at least 2 playthrougjs and I've never had a 20% drop rate... 1 in 10 maybe but even that seems high. Without the perk bonus I think it seems closer to 1 in 50, or even 1 in 100.

It could be bugged, but I think its more likely the wiki is wrong. (Its only as reliable as the people willing to update it.)

A tenfold increase in loot bags, just for getting lucky on which perk books you find? I just can’t imagine it works that way. It’s very likely a 20% increase over what it is without the bonus.

Run of the mill zombies have a 2% (1 in 50) chance of dropping loot, but it can be 3% on tougher zombies. And I think there may be an extra chance during horde night, based on personal experience, but I’m less sure about that.

No.

2% = 0.02
20% = 0.2

"20% increase" = 2% plus 20% of 2% = 0.02 + (0.2 x 0.02) = 0.02 + 0.004 = 0.024 = 2.4%
