"R" should be what you use to select the menu choice that will let you rotate blocks. Centered bars sometimes appear to not be doing what they should, but they DO rotate. The blocks that have that ability always have a little symbol up in the left corner. If you've pulled them from the creative menu, though, it might be different. I have no idea, otherwise.

I don't use the CM. Hm, I am not getting a menu nor are they rotating. I am using "R" and I have checked my settings. It is "R."

Are you sure iron bars rotate? Maybe this is happening, "..sometimes appear to not be doing what they should, but they DO rotate."

I'll try again.

I know the wooden bars do. I almost always use those first, then upgrade them to iron since I'm a ditz and place them wrong at least once or twice. So, I have not tried the actual iron bars in a19.3 and can't really tell you. I'll give it a look later on.

Left mouse button rotates blocks.

Edit: Holding R just opens the radial menu where you get more options on how to rotate blocks.

Yes. Left button rotates clockwise, or left and right. I am trying to rotate up and down, or vertically. It used to be hold down "r" and select from the radial menu. I am not getting the menu when I depress "r" nor any other way to rotate.

I am asking, is that still an option in a19.2?

Apparently, it is, judging by you guys responses. However, its not working for me. At least, not the iron bars. I am fixing to load the game again. I'll try some other things

Before reinstalling, try resetting your keybinds to default, even if you haven't changed anything. Maybe they've gotten messed up.

So, I forged one iron bar *not centered*, used the R to pull up the menu, chose Advanced for rotation, used my left mouse button, and it rotated perfectly. I'm not sure why yours is not doing as it should and sorry it took me so long to try this (was in a raid), but, in 19.3 clean install solo, it's working as intended.

You must use ADVANCED rotation to get that roll over, top to bottom, by the way.

And some blocks only allow simple rotations, not advanced rotations, so you can’t do weird things like mount a drawbridge on its side. I don’t know offhand if the block you’re trying to rotate allows advanced rotations.

Well, it looks like Khissi did it with the block I need. So, I think I got a glitch. Meh.

Thx for checking, Khissi)

Figured it out. It is tied in bindings to reload/take all. So when I changed reload, which is bound to "r" by default, to delete, then the radial menu also became remapped to delete. Whats more confusing is that in options "rotate selection" is bound to "x" which does nothing for me...well it activates fly mode, not my thing.

weirdness.

Rotate selection is an editor mode thing- Similar to world edit in minecraft when in creative/debug mode you can select two disparate points in the world and select the space between, which you could then manipulate with the rotate selection key.
