The level 4 I will upgrade to level 5 (I can create level 5 batteries, but I still lack materials).
I use both because I get tired of hearing the generators all the time so give my ears a break when I want. Also, if I am going to be away for a couple of game days and the generator could run out of fuel, I have the batter banks hooked up to take up the slack.
The two work together! Generator banks and Solar panels have the ability to actually run your machinery and also to restore the batteries in a battery bank. All 3 can run your stuff! It's just that 2 of them have the ability to put power back into the 3rd.
The good Khissi explained it much better, for comparison also.
