But seriously, If the inability to loot a zed corpse is your "F this noise" breaking point, then yeah. Refunding is probably your best option. Cause it's only gonna get MORE difficult and you'll end up hating it.
This game was supposed to be a challenging survival game, but there are many settings to make it as easy as a milk run, where zeds do very little damage to you, and you can 1 shot most things by simply changing the settings.
Armor helps against getting infected, AFAIK. If you find glue or duct tape (check trash piles), you can make cloth armor in hand like so: cotton (white flowers) -> cloth, glue + cloth -> duct tape, cloth + duct tape -> cloth armor.
But your best bet against getting infected is not getting hit. Try to keep your distance by using a bow or a spear and kite zombies. And always keep plenty of stamina in reserve so that you can turn and run in case that they start charging.
It sounds like your issues are due to being a new player. This gsme does have a learning curve, and it doesn't hold your hand beyond the most basic starting tasks. If you're not sure how something works, this g orum will answer your questions. (Or watch one of the many "getting started" videos, just make sure its for A18.)
But if you need to loot everything you kill, for sure get a refund because this isnt that gsme.
Zombies very rarely drop loot now, but when they do its good stuff. They DO seem to contain a ton of experience points, which is definitely worthwhile.
