Best way to get rotting flesh?

I need it to build farm plots. You think there'd be a lot of it about in a zombie apocalypse but I'm finding it really hard to obtain.

I've tried chopping up killed zombies but they mysteriously vanish before I can finish chopping up the body. Any ideas how best to obtain this elusive resource?

Cut up or chop up the rotting carcasses in the middle of the road. Also, buy level three of " living off the land" perk; this will allow you to make farm plots for 50% less. Rotting flesh can also be found when you're looting.

sometimes in trashcans
or garbage bafs
and as the poster above me said, carcasses on the road.

I want to add by saying don't even build any until you have LotL at lvl 3. You need it there anyway so you can make seeds. Corn is easy to find. For potatoes, go run the roads for a full day. While you're chopping up carcasses, you can loot cars. Cars have a lot of potato seeds, and as a bonus, the auger is in the car loot-table!

Once you have your farm set how you want, don't neglect rotting flesh. Hobo stew is an awesome source of food. Don't get lvl 4 "industrial farming". Just make more plots. Also, you can plant mushrooms anywhere, so don't waste plots on them. I plant them inside my base on the wall. I harvest them at the same time as my farm. So when I get home and see they're full grown, I know it's time to go harvest everything.

Come to think of it, maybe zombie corpses still give a lot of rotten flesh on destruction, and they just disappear so fast you’d have to use a chainsaw to get it in time. Probably not, but I haven’t proven it’s not true.

you can also chop up body bags for some as well, i found a lot for my farm plots by going to a hospital for loot and chopping them up as i came across them

Roam the wasteland while searchign for the road piles. There's lots of dogs, bears and vultures out there that offer a lot on the side while looking.
