gas and box prob

been having probs i make alot of gas and store it in my boxes and woke up today box is jammed and gas is gone

Multiplayer or solo? This does not happen in a normal game, at all. Did YOU place the box or was it already in place? More information will help.

I don’t know what you mean when you say the box was “jammed.” Do you mean it was locked?

It was probably damaged, and unable to be accessed until repaired.

Right click on the chest/box with a stone axe to repair it, you will need wood or metal depending on the type on container.

I’m reasonably sure that damage doesn’t impede your ability to open a container, though.

Iirc, chests and doors are 'Jammed' when it belongs to another player and there is no passcode for it. And no; The chest being damaged doesn't prevent you from opening it. even at 1hp it works normally.

Yeah. It seems likely that OP's friend or another player broke into the chest, took the gas cans, and replaced it with a locked chest of their own. Incidentally, it's easy to tie up your stuff where friends can't get it in a coop game, since chests are locked by default when you place them.

Well, some people are not very nice, which sucks. However, if your friend and you are the only players on that server... I think I'd have a talk with my friend and get some ground rules. It's better to KNOW these sorts of things and at least be prepared for them. Chests will automatically be locked to everyone but YOU if you placed the chest. You can unlock it for others to use, or, they can just break it open if the server permits that sort of thing.

If you were sharing items with your friend and he needed the gas but you were not there to open the chest, it could be that he broke the lock to get to it. But, that would not have jammed the chest. He would have had to place a new chest making himself the owner for it to show jammed to you. You should certainly have a talk.

Thank you both for clearing that up. I never knew the cause of the "jammed" chest.
