vehicle speed adjustment
will they be always this speed or will there be an update/patch adressing the fact the truck goes depressingly slow, along with the rest, i could understand the bike, the minibike, but the motorbike and truck shouldn't be close to the same speed, the bike is a little more faster than the truck which i feel could make sense, but the truck is so slow that the minibike, motorbike and truck all feel like they run at the same speed, will their speed be adjusted, even if slightly so their fx feel more realistic?

You can adjust the numbers if you like but minibike at turbo is only slightly faster than the 4x4 and motorcycle at normal, and the motorcycle is only slightly faster turbo than the 4x4 turbo.

Adjust the VelocityMax property in the vehicles.xml, first number is normal speed, second number is turbo speed.

i'm not trying to mod the bloody game, i hate having to do that to enhance my gameplay, so no, i'm not editing the game, i am asking the devs to see if they will edit it themselves.

It's the same as adjusting the different settings in the game menu, but okay.

it's the princible fam not me being lazy, shouldnt need to edit the game to enhance gameplay

I didn't say you were being lazy. It is a setting like any other that can be adjusted for personal taste. Your idea of enhanced gameplay is not the same as someone else's, and recognizing that, tfp has made it so people can adjust things as needed to make the game more personalized to your own preference. I don't see them touching the speeds of the vehicles, unless they have a vehicle overhaul in the works.

if that's a thing, then i can appreciate an overhaul, but fam, what you're saying is to modify the game for my own tastes, if i decided to do that, then what the hell is the point in even playing if i have to "adjust" the damn game so i enjoy it better, i don't wanna dig into the damn game's files just modify it for my enjoyment, i //shouldn't have to// , is what you don't seem to be getting, it should be preset to more reasonable speeds. updates don't come out fast at all, like all
"early access games" so when large updates are pushed out i expect hiccups, not nerfs i need to go into the game files to adjust. at the end of the day, this update is good, and ♥♥♥♥ all the same, simplified some parts, improved others, added more to it, but all the same, it removed alot of aspect to it as well, though some are reasonable, such as the plains biome or needing to harvest feces to farm which was overly tedious and time consuming, but i much enjoyed building guns, it was more satisfying to slowly craft my gun, it was more personal. i'm not saying the new vehicles are ♥♥♥♥, they looks cool and one holds peeps but like, at least vary the speed REASONABLY without needing to modify the fecking game

The top speed is governed by performance concerns. If they can optimize and improve performance (like chunk loading times), then they could increase the top speed. This is also what ultimately limits the number of zombies on screen. Both values are set to what they consider reasonable for a 'reasonable' hardware setup.

so i have to mod because you're trying to keep it low impact?

For the current build, I think that’s your best option, or look for a mod that already does this.

mmmh, alright, if it's needed to be done, then i guess i'll have to change it myself, now if i edit vehicle speed in the game file, will it be only for me, or will it affect any server i created?

If it’s in the server config, it will affect the server.

The file location was shaded recently on this forum, try searching for it.

I recall in A16.4, the server we used for mp was a bit underpowered, and we had some lag when riding the mini-bikes.

While you need to mod it yourself, it’s good that they didn’t hard code the speed to prevent players from being able to change it, in case they had the issue I noted.

Share how fast you can get yours to run, would be interesting to see how fast some players can go!

As fast as the game allows it XD thing is, because the spawn time of the game you can't go really fast. There is also the fact that with every bump and turn the game just throws your vehicle everywhere but where you steer it to. The faster you go, the more the vehicle becomes a raggdoll. It's brilliantly made that way 0-0
