The hatch closes and I get nudged on top of it.
1 block behind you, put another single post wall up. That gives you a 1 block opening, large enough for you to navigate.
If you seem to fall, you can hit the up arrow and start back up it.
That's how I build ladder paths. I try and leave only 1 block wide shaft so if anything happens I do not fall (and some shafts at 30-50 deep are not things you want to go "oops" with.)
Until they arent death traps...
You are better off avoiding hatches.
Thats fresh tested for alpha 11?
I did know it, but last I checked it was removed.
Same with cobwebs, they are worthless now.
Yes I did this just the other day when I made a Hellevator for a very steep mine cave. It had a four hatch system with hay bales at the bottom of each ladder. Worked fine for me. Getting down into my cave base was fast and easy.. getting back out.. not so much.
You can also use water to drop into as well but that's harder to engineer.
It was really strange but a little funny too...I understand the game is in Alpha so I just laughed and kept going ....just wanted to pass that on here about ladders.
