Fast question about wandering zombies
So i noticed when my game stage progressed some mini hordes starting coming during the nigh time and i was wondering if i'm mining super deep will they go and attack the base while im gone or will they just wander around untill i trigger them?

Little of column A, little of column B. If they hear you, they will start attacking trying to get to the source of the noise- If your mine entrance is inside your base, they may regard that as a faster way to get to you than digging through the ground.

But their end goal is You(More specifically the location of the sound they heard), not the base.

As far as I know, zombies will usually just walk around objects if they are not attacked, but this is also not true. Bear with me. The AI isn't perfect, and sometimes a zombie's path will become blocked and they automatically become agitated and start beating whatever it is they can't walk through. Keep in mind they become increasingly hostile the higher you level, so expect to find yourself defending your base whenever you come up for "air". Personally, I go up to 2 or 3 blocks thick for my outer walls and I go 5 to 6 high being they now are able to climb up on top of one another to get over your wall. Build some nice murder holes too.

i never mine near or in my base. Zombies will always hear you and come for you. they will get stuck on some random block and beat their way to you. if they cant path to you cuz of a ladder or such they will make swiss cheese of your base. one bad hit to a storage box and say goodbye to the loot. (not to mention collapsing mine will be very bad for your base above it lol

Also, for structural integrity reasons you shouldn't mine under your base.

what if you are very deep down and somewhat far away from your base underground around bedrock level? will they still go to your base and start blasting?, and by far away i mean your base is not exactly on top of the mine

They are drawn to activity levels ( the heat map as it used to be referred to) and not a specific location. The AI doesn't know what a "base" is and it would be just like any other obstacle or building in the game. The zeds don't seek out buildings, they seek us; the players.

That said, if a wandering horde DOES spawn near your base, it's entirely possible for them to get hung up blocks or terrain, and opt to go -through- it if it's easier than going around, but that is a mechanic of their AI thought processing and not limited to the building design or purpose.

If your mine is far enough away, horizontally, from your base, then the zombies won’t come through your base to get to you in your mine. Now, how far is far enough? I don’t know. If you want to be sure, tunnel so far away that your base is no longer loaded (e.g. it disappears from view or reverts to its stock POI appearance).
