B6 Exp. fixed the 1/2 arrow slit force field.
With the release of Alpha 20.1 b6 Experimental, the 1/2 depth arrow slit is no longer seen as an "unwalkable" block by the living dead. They specifically said in the patch notes that this same effect can be obtained with other blocks (but not as easily). So what are we thinking? I've tried all versions of the arrow slits and a few of the odd shapes but they all are either "walkable" or very easily broken.

What I think is the devs are watching every video jawoodle makes this year. The next thing will probably float bases.

More than likely. What's the magic block? Cube corner or something. 5000 health on it and the Z's can't hit it.

Yep, Jawoodle, the enemy of TFPs, the hero of horde base builders. I've learn't a lot from him.
I've got lots of popcorn. Won't be long until he breaks it again.

Plates. And I dread any nerfs that might come to molotovs now that he's made a molotov horde base.

Plates work? But they have like what, 250 health when they're concrete?

He using plates again in his video "I Broke the ZOMBIE AI; AGAIN"

It figures. I just wanted a safe parking spot for my vehicles to keep the horde from pounding on them so I built a arrow slit protected parking pad last night. Guess it's back to putting all the vehicles in a box for horde night. At least it was good xp but a waste of concrete.

Haven't found anything for a block you can walk over, but if you take JaWoodles pit base and just replace the arrow slits with concrete ladders placed vertically then you're good. Base is still solid and the zombies will completely ignore those blocks, but you can't walk over them. so no surrounding your garage or base with them unfortunately.

No, they reverted this change. All shapes have (for now) full HP. They will however lower HP of smaller blocks later, after adjusting cost.

This base will be a death trap after block HP changes will go back. Even while testing on full block HP he lost 3 out of 4 supports - lol

There is an opportunity here. If we can convince Jawoodle to find a way to exploit the magically sinking turrets, that issue will be patched out in the next update. :steamhappy:

I don't see how the zombies would be pounding on your vehicles, unless you have them in a weirdly vulnerable spot. I never have to worry about that.

You also can't seem to repair through arrow slits anymore, breaking their functionality. Are they just solid blocks, now? I haven't tried shooting through them, but I noticed I can't use my wire tool to reattach the wires when the game mucks it up.

It was *extremely* useful for base building to be able to re-wire my electric fence posts through arrow slits, because sometimes the game unattaches the wire from the post and sends it off into the horizon in a random direction.

I can no longer do that, now, because The Fun Pimps watch a Youtuber exploit things and they don't like that.

This was just a weird thing to focus on when they admit in the patch notes that other blocks will still do the exploit, when instead they could have tried fixing vehicles teleporting into POIs/under bases/underground, not allowing turrets to sink through the ground randomly, and maintain the connection on electric fence post traps during horde nights when the game breaks the wiring arbitrarily.

In another thread, it was mentioned that the colliders for arrow slits were set to match iron bars, which means projectiles will go through but melee attacks (much to my disappointment) won’t. Steel shutters were proposed as an alternative for accessing electrical components while still protecting them.

For what it’s worth, they are fixing multiple things at the same time, including work to fix vehicles winding up where they’re not supposed to be.

I was getting an issue with the Hawaiian shirt guy and the spider zombie getting stuck on my 4x4 and gyro and taking a few swings at it before finding their way around it. The spider took longer to free himself from the truck than the big boy did, he seemed to get caught under the edge of the truck. Caused some concern when I could see the truck bouncing up and down during the horde. Only happened when the horde was spawning from that direction and wasn't causing much damage. Not a big deal, just thought a safe parking pad was an in character way of dealing with it. I'll put the vehicles in a storage box for the horde, not a huge issue.

Hadn't tried the arrow slits since A17 so it's not a loss for me. Was typical of my luck to have it nerfed the day after I tried using it for the first time in years.

This. So this. I love how he joked about molotovs right after.
