You don't have to 'wait'; Just play the game. Avoid sprinting and jumping constantly and you'll still recover over time, and be aware that you are slightly slower and compensate for that in your fights.
Steroids remove all the Penalties of a break, including allowing you to sprint/jump/power attack without increasing the timer.
Use the in-game solutions to make breaks trivial as long as you prepare ahead of time.
i think about reducing sprained leg about 5 - 7 minutes.

Becasue you can loose >25% of your EXP for pulling such stunts
Disagree with just dying and losing XP over it. Considering all the fall-mitigating resources you have at your hand... nerdpoling, able to move while falling/landing a jump midair like some sort of sorcerer, stopping your fall with a ledge, haybail, taking your gyro off the roof instead of going back down, installing mods in your footwear, using parkour....
Shouldnt you be rightly punished for breaking your leg like a scrub-a-dub-a-doo after how many hours have you played helltaze?!
There's a penalty for dying.
Some people play permadeath runs.
