Do you think TFP will release dlc?
Well, I mean do you think they will release a dlc BEFORE they actually fully release the game?!

From the way the game has been created and tweaked over the years, I strongly doubt it. What would a DLC bring that mods can't bring? They also don't need additional funding.

What would the DLC even be?
I don't think so.
Already did release DLC if you count the console version. They had a few skin packs...

That was at the sole discretion of the publisher of the console version Telltale Games without strictly needing TFP's approval for doing so.. The same publisher who called that console version a fully released product as a last ditch effort to wring some money out before they went bankrupt.. Unfortunately, in doing that(calling it 'fully released'), they tied TFP's hands and made it impossible for TFP to bring that console version to to snuff with the PC version, which is why they're making a new console version.

To answer the OP, No, I don't think they'll launch any official TFP DLC before the game officially releases out of Early Access as a 1.0 version.

Ewwww that is not a DLC not even good sound
A DLC is about content added to a game. Not something already in the game that is just offered to be used outside of the game.

As Crater said, it's probably technically a DLC in a wide sense. But since they're not adding any new content in the game, soundtracks aren't real DLC at all in my book.

Just my opinion ofc.

Guess they needed even more money to procrastinate on... bit disappointing, but it's 2024, it's becoming the norm for acts of desperation to be the rule instead of the exception.

If they released actual DLC I'd burst, don't think it should ever be acceptable for a game to release DLC whilst in EA. Shouting "Give us money we need it bad!" is more dignifying than cashgrabs, people are getting really good at spotting it and calling it out too.

No idea honestly, 10 euros for a soundtrack, wouldn't put it past them. It'd be a really stupid thing to do though. They've been on thin ice for some time now, having proper DLC would melt that ice instantly.

i highly doubt they will ever bring the typical DLCs to this game. Maybe in 5 years, when the game is released.

There will be post-release content updates that they've wanted to do but can't fit in time-wise before they release. The first round of updates at least will very likely be free updates that continue to fix bugs, and add more content that was planned but pushed back.

Paid DLC for a game like this is tricky because modding can be so comprehensive. Unless it is something significant like an entirely new biome or huge story-based endgame content, modders could probably offer something "close enough" for free.

Because the development of this first game has taken so long, I think they would be better off simply doing needed updates for bugs and some new content and then focus on 7 Days to Die 2 and hopefully push it out faster based on what they learned and the systems they created with this game. If they had finished this game say 5 years ago and then done a DLC a year for the next 3 then put out a sequel the next year that would've been fine. But with it being 10 years....they should get to their next game after they finish this one.

I like that ..."They don't NEED additional funding" ...Who don't like money...
And with the way a big portion of the gaming industry is going with micro transactions and LOTS of dlc..Battle Passes...uggg
With as many players as 7DTD gets online daily...it could be more profitable then what they make from selling their game from this point on (I think I saw it at $2.99 recently)
Oh...and Rimworld is prob in top 5 most modded games on steam....and they drop fantastic dlc (diff genre I know)

There are sooooo many scrappy dlcs out there that don't add content....don't starve together off the top of my head has like a hundred...its multi-player survival....

I just wonder...if it's taking them this long to develop the game...even with the MASSIVE amount of sales they have had....how do they pay the bills....great budgeting?..Other more prominent studios have gone under <Telltale coincidentally > and they released fully realized Huge hits....
