How do I swim down ?
Well, another airdrop crate out of reach. This is what happened to the last one I went for...and died trying.

Now they dropped one at the bottom of a lake. I swam out but was unable to go down before running out of breath. I pointed in the direction and even pressed sprint but I still was only able to slowly sink. Can you swim down at all ?

And these pilots should be shot.

The water got much deeper before any way to swim down was put in. Even the "swimming we do now is more like walking/running just below he surface. If you're not on a server, just enable cheat mode press H and you can loose altitude with the C button (basically H allows you to fly "space bar" for up, and "C" to go down). That's the only work around I know of to get deep enough fast enough to not drown before you can swim back up.

TL;DR
You Cannot, it's alpha lol

About that fancy screenshot with airdrop crate "out of reach". Why, I see you have 159 wooden frames in your inventory and you can't reach that crate on the top of street lighting post? :)

I swim out to above the crate, look down and press forward till I can grab the crate, then look up and press forward while holdin jump and run to gain a little more speed as I have still not found the gills books, lol.

You find the gills book, I'll work on crafting the photocopier powered by a car battery ;)

Yep. And when I was half way up, the bottem frame got busted out. This was in a city.

And, I did try to point down. No faster. Thanks thow.

To sink down quickly hit crouch. Just remember to take it off or you will never swim back in time.

You don't need to cheat. I've got several crates from the bottom of the lakes. Check your controls options. I'm playing unmodded 14.6 alpha. If I can swim (walk downward underwater) than everyone should be able to. To go down, I just look down and move toward it. Don't crouch, it slows you down even more. I use jump key and forward while looking up to come back to surface. It is very slow going down, but thankfully fast going up.

What about destroying the lightpole then ? Sure that would take a while with a stone axe for example, but at least then you are still on the ground and can run away if zeds come. Not really on topic with the swim issue, but just asking. Thanks.

EDIT..But you have plenty of blue tools in your belt in the shot so that should be helpful.

Hey, it's cool. I have had the same thing happen in trees and other vertical obstacles in the game. I "think" (unless they changed it) you cannot interact with the signs like at the book stores and hardware stores. You can destroy the poles but the signs just "float" there in midair and don't fall. This also sugggests that the supply crates would maybe just fall through that part of the sign and not get caught up on it, unless all that has been changed recently so not sure on that.

Just in case it happens to you again, friend. Thanks for the reply !

EDIT..What is interesting to me is that in your shot, the parachute is no longer attached to the crate, and I "thought" the chute did not disappear until the crate hit the actual ground but I guess I was wrong on that.
