Sleeping Option
I know that this may have been a topic already, but I want to really emphasise the want for it personally since I play in a small group of friends and I bet some do too. So basically what i think the devs can do is just follow the same thing games like minecraft does, if there are no zombies nearby we can skip nightime, we can also skip day time if we sleep during day, its up to people,in addition sleeping can give csrtain benefits like more stamina for tommorow etc. To be frank I think people have bettet ideas, but i just want to skip nightime, EXCEPT on blood moon event, this understandably so makes sense that you couldn't skip nightime of course.

You can forward fast time in console commands if you want to.

But. Night time is an important part of the game. Most ppl spend it (early game) mining for resources, crafting, mixing up cement, cooking food and water and making improvements to your base or horde base. This frees up the day for exploring.

"...can give certain benefits..." So you skip the scariest part of the game _AND_THEN_ get a benefit from it? Developers will say its a zombie game and not sleeping through the night is the point.

Most players reach the same conclusion, after playing long enough, that they can actually do nearly anything they want to do at night. Their character becomes stronger and they overcome their fear of nighttime (a fear which, to be clear, is justified and intentional in the beginning).

you want to skip the night because you are weak
the thing is once you hit mid/endgame stage and got yourself good gear nothing will scare you and you will go mining at night with an auger while standing not caring about screamers like a chad
adding that option would only be useful for early game

I agree with the idea that there is no need for this, but I also agree there is no harm in this. But to be fair, F1 to enter console command mode, turn on DM ON, then hit escape for the person who is the admin (hosting) and slide the time to where you want. I think this is sufficient enough for the amount of people asking for it. I don't think we need to actually sleep, and frankly the feature is broken in minecraft because of the simple problem, of getting everyone to actually sleep. They added phantom to force people to sleep. Alternatively I'd recommend just cheating in a headlamp and learn to deal with it being a little darker. Change the settings so that the nighttime zombies move at the same speed, and work yourself up to handling a change in difficulty. The mechanic most employed as mentioned above is mining/crafting/base building are all great nighttime activities. If I slept, I wouldn't have time to be ready for the 7 day hordes.

To be fair in my first ever game I spent the entire first night standing in a corner too scared to even move, because I didn't understand a lot of how the game works. Meanwhile a Zombie that seemed to be on fire was walking up and down outside the house I had holed up in. On that occasion I did think that maybe I was supposed to hit a sleep button, but I couldn't find it.
In some ways I miss those days when I felt genuine terror. Now night is much less of a problem (I'm few thousand hours deep) Night time becomes like day time, just a bit darker.

Yeah as an experienced player with over 6000 hours, on day 1 at night, I still stay indoors. That first few days of fear is great. To be frank, the waiting gets to you and you go do something stupid that makes noise and you die. That makes you actually feel part of the game. It makes you feel the danger. I'd me be okay with a sleep feature, if they let a 50% of a snore, and you wake up to a horde on top of you.

I think this game has the best mechanics and settings of any I have played. Admittedly, I am no game expert. But if you want a certain scenario or game change, the forum is the place to ask. Devs are great at adding content but changing stuff like this not so much, and certainly no copy cat changes. Night time is the whole idea imho my friend. Doesn`t make your idea wrong though.

Set zombies to run during the day and suddenly night time only matters once every 7 days.

They won't do it. It's a great suggestion if it had some kind of debuf at the same time so it were a reward and a punishment at the same time, but it won't happen. Don't get your hopes up. Many people ask many things, many times and many things go ignored / excused. New player suggestions rarely matter.

"Most players reach the same conclusion ..."

That is purely an assumption and not a fact.

The decision was made before it was even considered. Sorry. You'll get used to it around here. It happens very, very often.

It takes some getting use to but eventually (when you max out Night Stalker) you will find night time to be your most productive time. You get a lot of bonuses by being active at night.

What everybody seems to forget though is that playing during the day is easier for some due to sight limitations. Do you have any understanding of the lacking accessibility in video games nowadays? It's absolutely horrendous! So many companies blatantly ignore these things and thus many players are limited for a lot of games simply because they can't see so well in dark nights. Why would those players matter though? Who cares if a person is legally blind, colour blind, has tunnel vision, etc.? People have become self centred and ignorant to the fact that there are many players around the world who do suffer those impairments and video game developer companies have hugely ignored it over the years.

I can think of other various reasons a player would rather sleep through the night, but it will be met with resistance or rejection so there isn't any point in bothering suggest anything.

Just FYI, doing this is likely to break your save.

I'm surprised this wasn't pointed out earlier. Bad juju messing with the continuum if you care about a save..

Lots of great advice. Make zeds walk at night being the easiest.
Night is actually great for stealth. Zeds can't see you. You can thwack them with an arrow, sneak 10 meters or so away while they path to where you shot from, then they stand there like idiots waiting for you to finish them off.

The word die is in the title, and it's just a game. If I had a hot dinner for every time I died in a survival game I could drag my stove to the curb. Hiding in a room all night is no way to kick the apocalypse's ass, and we all figured it out eventually. 7D2D is not a game for taking naps. Nor is Subsistence. Another of my favorite survival / defense EA titles.

Having said that, I do believe sleeping through the time slot players allocate as night should be a thing. I know that will blow the wheels off our current town crier too (sorry dude. I know the hate is strong with you). Any game in this genre with a bed should allow for that choice.
The thing is there are ALWAYS zombies nearby at night, i can't think of a situation where there aren't any zombies about, unless you turn them off. In fact if i am not mistaken zombies actually spawn in around you at night and patrol about. Now it might only be 1 or 2 but sometimes it can be quite a few of them.

While i wouldn't mind sleep being something we had to manage (another resource) for a hardcore mode and something we could disable. I don't think just skipping night time is good both mechanically and from a gameplay standpoint.

One of the worst things i found to do in this game is to do nothing at night... You should ALWAYS be doing something, lost time can be pretty detrimental. At least that's my opinion on it from my experiences with the game.
