7 Days to Die
What kind of name do you usually pick for worlds?
I´m curious, do you just choose any random name or something with a bit more of a meaning, my OCD is bad lol

In A19, where we still had Nitrogen and Kinggen and could pretty much affect what the world would be like, I'd chose my world names accordingly.
If there were large water areas, I'd give it names like "Waterwold". "Olympus" or similar names for mountain-themed maps etc.
But sometimes I named them depending on other settings. Vanilla or Compo Pack, for example.
Since such map generators currently don't work with A20's tile system, I just pick words that I like. Like "Bahamut" xD

The names created by the game always look like some place in Asia yet the towns and city appear to be from North America continent.

After you’ve made a few worlds, you realize it’s a pretty simple naming algorithm. It just makes every other letter a vowel, so that it’s something pronounceable. Plus it checks against a blacklist, so it doesn’t come up with some horrible slur by random chance.

I’m most like william_es. If it’s a game I’m going to invest time in as opposed to just testing, I’ll actually try to construct a unique name with meaning - something a survivor might come up with for a new land, or something you might hear in a zombie movie. I play on worlds like Desolatia, Necroponos, and Pandaemia. I know the names don’t really matter, but I’m silly like that. I like being creative and being sure that I’m exploring a map no one has ever seen before.
I usually name my world and seed the same thing, so I try to come up with unique names each time.

Earf
Navels Gain
Tasty Town
Snorraria
Poopandalsopee (yes I am a 34-year-old child)
Gwens Pen
7 Days to Diarrhea (yup, still a child)

I haven't done this much in this game, but I do something similar in Minecraft with new regions I map out. A lot of times I'll try to determine a major feature of the region like a lot of Jungle, or maybe the shape of the land looks like a turtle. And I'll try to make portmanteaus of these features that sort of sound like they were named in one or multiple different non-english languages like Nowylad or Terratoilla.
I usually have the name of the world match it's seed in my single player games. Don't really do multiplayer since that would ruin the whole "forever alone" thing even though Trader Jen is just down the road a little.
I do all of the sci-fi tropes. Colony 426, Nostromo, Weyland, Alderaan, etc etc. The exception was one time my dog cut a WICKED fart next to my desk while I was making the game and I named it NastyEggFarts
