How to set time
I'm a noob and I've done a lot of looking to see how to set day and time but what I've found hasn't worked. Either I'm doing something wrong or what I found was outdated. This is what I found: press F1 enter settime day 1-04000 to set back to day one at 4:00 am. Is this right?

0400 would be 4 am (1 too many 0 on yours), but doesn't day 1 start at like 7am (0700)?

Hmm, you may be right about day 1. I did know about military time but what I read on the internet had an extra 0. It's really hard to tell what's accurate about this game because there have been so many changes that I was not around for. Thank you.

*** Command: settime *** Set the current game time. Usage: 1. settime day 2. settime night 3. settime <time> 4. settime <day> <hour> <minute> 1. sets the time to day 1, 12:00 pm. 2. sets the time to day 2, 12:00 am. 3. sets the time to the given value. 1000 is one hour. 4. sets the time to the given day/hour/minute values.

Just be aware that this is a developer test command, and that running it on your save/server has a very high likelihood of breaking your game.

Moving time forward seems to have notably less impact in a20 than in previous versions.
Moving time backwards is almost guaranteed to break your save.

Thank you for that. I guess I'm glad it didn't work.

you can just type
st 3 4 5
(in the F1 menu) instead of typing "settime", and it'll set it to day3 hour4 minute5.

Have you done this in single player? I'm concerned that what sylenthunder said was true and it will break my game.

I've done it in both single and multiplayer (hosting Peer2Peer) and haven't had any problems. Doesn't screw up traders anymore either in my experience.
I've moved time both forward and backward without problems so far.

I can't say whether or not it's friendly with Dedicated Servers though. They can have unique issues sometimes.

I also don't remember having used it WITH other players presently in-game...so I might've technically only used in SinglePlayer right BEFORE others joined. I think I did back in A19 while playing with a friend, but not in A20 that I can remember.

Alternative: turn on debug mode by entering dm in the console. Then when the game is paused, you'll have a new panel on the right side of the screen, with sliders for the day and time. I don't know if this is more or less stable than settime. I only use it on testing worlds.

That's nice for adjusting time, but the Day adjustment is only good for days 1-14 or something around that. If you accidentally TOUCH the days slider after day 14 (or wherever it tops out at) you'll accidentally roll-back your time to Day14 or earlier...with the F1 command being the only quick way to go forward beyond that, lol.

I'm not sure why that slider is setup that way, but it's kind of a pain. I suppose a slider with a larger range of days would be really imprecise..while a moving slider that scales with/near your current days would make it impossible to go back or forward more than a week or two.
