Players "stealing" zombie loot in multiplayer
I looked all over the internet and couldn't find anything about this, hoping to get some help here.

I run a dedicated server, and about 15-20 people play. Some people are complaining that there are 2-3 people on Horde nights, that just run around and "steal" all the loot bags from zombies while others are defending the base.

Is there someway to combat this? Setting a round-robin, or setting ownership of loot bags somehow?

Thanks!

Don't play with randoms. That's your solution. Play with folks who are interested in contributing and not folks interested in being bums.

Enable full PvP but inform only good guys.

Your server, your rules. You can post a house rule that on horde night, only the person that got the kill can loot the bag. Or, they must offer that loot to the killer, or put it in a communal chest… it depends on how cooperative you want your server to be. Regardless, you can then enforce this rule with admin powers if necessary. Though it does strike me that the thieves may be taking more risk, being down in the fray, compared to those picking off zombies from the safety of the base.

I would call the cops.

Not in real life on them though. You should only do that if they keep doing it.

I'd just turn on friendly fire. Anyone running out early will get mowed down and flambasted.

Set it so that pvp is on for anybody not in their team, then proceed to mow them down during horde night. They obviously have no problem screwing other players so they should run a higher risk of getting screwed themselves.

What if the zombie killing area is a deep pit. With no way out. Looting that would be deadly.

Im currently in a server where some people steal the stuff you put in your campsite or break temporary storage you have between two POI, really ruin the game. Still administrator are notified and will have a look .

Tell them to use the option on powered turrets to also fire at non friendly targets as well as zombies. Or make some that are dedicated to just shooting players who are not allied to the turret owner.

If the server is set to PvE, that won't have any effect.

I mean, if you can figure out WHICH players in particular are doing it, admin privs let you find various punishements for them. I haven't looked at the host commands for 7days but teleporting them to the middle of nowhere with signs (assuming those still exist in the game) placed in front that say 'This is your warning. Stop stealing loot' or something tends to be a pretty effective warning, and a thing most games that let you host your own servers let you do.
Maybe someone more versed in what options are available could give more creative ideas. It may even be possible to set up a mod that automatically prevents loot bags from dropping on horde night, that way no one gets them, and no one can fight over them.

Are these people you know/are friends with or just randoms from the internet. If they are people you know or like talk to them before you do anything if not just ban them and inform people that behaviour like that wont be tolerated.
