Ahh, okay, I knew you could smelt them, but didn't really consider that. :) Nice suggestion, thanks.
and late game we dont usually need to buy stuff so dukes are best used for brass at this point.
I did some testing now, and with my current bartering level, and whatever else is maybe affecting my findings, overall it appears to be better if I smelt my ammo. This is if I was purely looking for the most brass.
If I smelt a 150 stack of 7.62mm ammunition in the forge, I get 750 bronze.
If I sell a 150 stack of 7.62 ammunition, I get 429 dukes. This translates to 429 bronze if smelted.
If I scrap the ammunition, I get 562 bronze.
My conclusion is that it is actually better to smelt my normal ammunition. So yeah, as I am starting to stack up the number of dukes, I think I will smelt dukes and normal ammo. I do keep my 9mm ammo as my turret SMG's can't get enough of it. However, my 7.62mm is really piling up now (I have an entire crate full of it).
Yeah, that was one of my questions. I think for later game it is.
According to the wiki, the 7.62mm AP ammo does a 100% extra damage compared to normal ammo against armoured tough zombies. I am playing on survivalist and it can take a while to bring down a cop, demolisher, wight and soldier.
It could be more balanced if sometimes throwing stacks of ammo in a fire made it explode! 💥😆💥
(And no, I don’t want to hear from a know-it-all how that would or wouldn’t happen. Hollywood physics is more fun.)
Haha, yeah that would be interesting
You could introduce a new perk/skill to the mix. Something ridiculous like:
Level 1: Brass Firecracker
Reduce the damage of exploding bullets dealt to the forge by 70%
Level 2: Bullet Safety 101
Reduce the damage of exploding bullets dealt to the forge by 85%
Level 3: Bullet Baker Masterchef
Reduce the damage of exploding bullets dealt to the forge by 100%
