Nope. People who build really big concrete structures (Like me) often just have whole walls of forges and cement mixers in our bases.

As above, the best over all way is to make it yourself.

But there is a way to help speed it up a bit.
Loot POIs that contain blocks of cement bags. Most large buildings, like factories, normally have a fair amount in them. Sometimes as much as 1000-2000 each.
Smaller POIs can also have some but normally not nearly as much, though there are some exceptions.

Traders will also often sell both the mix and the final product.

Mixing the above two options can be a great way to speed up how fast you can get more, if the traders are offering jobs in the right buildings.

so many forges

so many....

not to mention diging so much stone.

i llove to see TFP adjust the sand we get, really should be more sand when we dig it.

Or just have a few extra cement mixers just for the job of taking some of that extra stone and turn it into more sand.

A noteable POI is Bob's Boars & Carl's Corn (aka Gambrel_House_03), it's a smaller POI (Tier 3) with I think 3-4k cement.

Take ranks in Mother Lode. The more ranks you have, the more you will harvest from harvestable blocks, such as the piles of cement you find in the game. It respawns also, in a quest POI, so unless you find it cheesy, harvest the cement that is in the POI, then activate the quest and it respawns in that POI.

This is just to answer how to get the most, as the OP asks.

EDIT...Actually, this might not be correct, although it is still a very useful perk in the game. The perk says "terrain blocks" as one entry, so that might not apply to the piles of cement you find.

Oh, little warning about that one. A lot of the cement is on "hanging" platforms. Two of them.
Upon taking anything off of them they have a fun habit of no longer remaining hanging, or intact. At which point all the stuff on them you wanted will be lost in the crash.
Bring frames and make some supports below the platforms before harvesting.

Not the point i was getting at

the fact with my current game stats I get over 100 stone blocks per stone block but only 16 sand when digging sand the balance is really off.

Maybe it is the devs way of motivating us to travel to the desert biome. :steamhappy:

you can put stone into the cement mixer 1 to 1 ratio . 6000 stone = 6000 sand. doing this makes sand a none issues , takes a'lot longer to make stone into cement in forges .

because mining stone is faster than traveling to desert

no it is not lol, just make a base in the forest by the desert BOOM infinite sand without having to turn stone into sand so all your stone can be used for cement

well not everyone does that , and tbh you can mine stone faster than you can dig sand by mid game. 1 stone block gives 120 stone, 1 sand block gives 18 . you got to break 5 sand blocks to = a stone block . I realize you can break sand faster than stone but by the time you break 6 sand blocks ive broken 2 stone . that's 240 sand from the stone vs 108 sand from digging and i can do that anywhere on the map * shrug* plus anytime you mine any other resource you get stone as well ,
Sally May 22, 2021 @ 1:00am
take a shovel on every single poi you enter and dig every single cement bag you see, usually lasts me until day 28-35 horde before i start smelting rocks. and i buy from traders when they have it, its pretty cheap.
