Do be aware that most folks do NOT fight hoards in the same base they use for home! Home and crafting bases just need to be strong enough to withstand some screamer hoards and wandering hoards (NOT the Blood Moon!) so maintaining them is not going to be a huge time/material sink. A smaller, well designed hoard base makes upkeep easy, cheap, fast... so you have more time to do the fun stuff like ganking zombies and looting!
- It will not detonate, if you kill it. Even if the detonation timer is on. Just give the guy the strongest weapon with the best ammo type, and let him rain chaos. Also move his shooting post closer to a borderline with the zombies.
I'm also a ♥♥♥♥ shot! lol
Best solution..... = STEEL!
If you shoot one and it arms, then shoot the explosive device on his chest again, it will disarm.
I believe this is incorrect. I did some testing on this. I used a level 4 AK with semi-auto mod. Spawned in Demos one at a time, and got one head shot on them before they turned around. HP ammo consistently gave 104 damage while the AP ammo only gave 74. I've read that the only benefit AP has right now is penetrating more than one zombie, and that the armor penetration wasn't working at this time.
Nope, I do it all the time. I rarely see them explode. It takes aim, and timing. You have to be fast about it, I don't always succeed. Electric fences help..and they barely scratch steel walls, should you miss.
I believe this is incorrect.
This has been fixed in the latest versions of A19... (maybe still in experiential.) and the extra damage for AP rounds is now included.
eg: i'm peaking up to 700 kills per horde night now using ap rounds, whereas it was only 5-600 kills previous.
Also there's a bottle of moonshine (forgot the name) that does 50% more ranged damage that can help dispatch demos faster.
edit :
A19.4 b1-b3
Fixed
AP rounds not working as expected
And it's Recog. I haven't figured out what that is supposed to mean in relation to better range damage. Sadly, I can make it but usually forget to take it.
it seems to cut them* down faster....
But have yet to do a whole night with more than 1 recog for a maximum effect and kill count.
