Since A18, Nearly every month has had a greater average player count and peak player count (A18 was released in October 2019)
Even before that, going further back to some of the older versikons, the peaks surpass the OP's cited stats several times. We've been averaging 20k+ for over a year now, with peaks averaging 30k+ the highest peak count being just shy of 40k
Also note, Servers don't count as players, so your math skills are way off.
Perhaps the OP figured that a server isn’t counted unless it’s currently populated, and that “Players” measured the number of players not on any server, e.g. playing single player. That would still ignore the possibility of more than one player on a server though, which under this interpretation could still explain the “unaccounted” number.
This makes me all the more curious where kek is getting their data.
