I'm going to miss the blunderbuss.
I'm not joking at all. I have always liked it. I can't wait to see the pipe guns and move on to bigger and better, but I really have always really liked the blunderbuss.

The funny thing is, I always use it, but I don't think I have ever actually crafted one. lol

IM not.......single shot gun with a reload that is rated in shots per millenia.

PLus, without it in the loot pool, maybe we get more useful weapons.

At least whenever they remove something they seem to keep all the files around for it, and the game is really easy to mod. I'll be keeping my own blunderbuss mod around for a proper man portable cannon. 15 second reload, penetrates two zed, 100 pellets per shot, and breaks in 6 shots.

I would have loved to see your reaction when you realised that the same update that will (probably) remove the blunderbuss will in fact even further reduce your chances of finding better weapons by adding in a bunch of tier 0 guns that will be doing much the same thing as it.
I.e. one shot per reload guns.

But likely with less style.

They’re not just reskins of the blunderbuss. The pipe weapons will have stats appropriate for their weapon class. I don’t see why they’d all be one shot per reload.

The simplest answer to both of your comments can be found in here.

5:34 if the timestamp didn't work.

Seems they will be adding a pipe pistol, shotgun and rifle. We get to see the shotgun and rifle which quite clearly show them being breach loaded guns of one shot each.

But good news for some as it seems I forgot about the pipe machine gun which should have more than one shot. Though I do wonder about how accurate and/or damaging it will be if the real guns would have to be better?

Also not sure what the difference between a pipe baton and the melee options we already have would be.

Ok, in the time I have been making this comment I got distracted on youtube and found this.

The pistol is multishot, didn't see that coming. But I think the old blunderbuss was faster to reload than most of these :steammocking:. Also that pipe machine gun couldn't hit the broad side of a barn after the first shot :steamhappy:.

Still not sure what the difference is between the pipe baton and what we already have is.

I hope to see a blunderbuss mod in the future that creates different ammo types. A blunderbuss in real life isn't a musket. It's a homemade junk canon. You would put screws and nails and rocks and pieces of concrete and just any wicked thing you could think of that would shred meat into that thing.

In the game we have a blunderbuss that shoots buckshot.

There really should have been a nails ammo for it, and a ball like in a musket, etc. That is what a blunderbuss is. It's a handheld junk canon.

No, it shoots small rocks in the game. So, blunderbuss.

Like we needed more trash guns and such?. I mean seriously its like hunting the fallout wasteland and finding a bazooka joe gumwrapper when you heard the word *bazooka*. But hey at least its still works in progress so they could be niche useful for a little bit yes?.

You know, you can just spawn a sniper rifle at day 0 and roll on everything too..... This is called gameplay progression, pretty common in 95% of games of that kind.

But you will be glad to know you will be able to just nerdpole to the roof of the shotgun messiah factory and win with the next update.

I wish they did at least add some weaker ammo types for the earlier weapons, or even separate the auto rifles from the semi auto by ammo type. The whole idea of this bullet does 10 damage in this gun but 50 damage in this gun is so silly. It can sometimes make sense if you're talking about snubnose vs a long rifle shooting the same round but that's almost never what is actually going on.

It would also just make more sense that cheaper ammo should be all over the place and easy enough to find at the start, but then later you need to start making your own or going to more dangerous places if you want the good stuff.
Seftak Oct 4, 2021 @ 2:08pm
We actuall had those. The steel casing ones where the cheap one. But yeah i totally agree that it does not make sense that we have a "rifle" ammo for all type of rifles...
yep especially "762" ammo whatever that means if they atleast call it .30 cal it would make alot more sense for america but most guns that use this ammo would actually use .308 or 7.62 Nato while the ak uses 7.62 soviet and the tactical ar should propably use 5.56Nato or .223

I guess from the point of view of adding new, similar, guns they decided to remove it. I get that. I just have a problem with having to remove things in the first place. Everything you remove from the game will upset some people regardless. So unless there is a major flaw with it I don't get why it can't just be in the game. I personally love it, not as much as I love blasting the m60 but I use the blunderbuss all the time even when I have better guns.
