So no, you really wont see m/any servers with player counts way up at 70; Or even 50 or 30 or 20. And this isn't something likely to change from the developers end; 1-8 player co-op is their intended target.
As to the skins; the whole point of a zombie game is to...have zombies. I find it unlikely they'd go out of their way to make skin packs. Modders on the other hand might, but, i still consider it unlikely.
Imagine a heroic fantasy game made with this engine, made with the same talent as this two teams.
Generate fantasy world on the fly,to play with your friends,Dungeons as POI etc....
I play Empyrion also. A fully open destructible world and the ability to build stuff is awesome in that game as it is in this game.
I know this game platform is capable of so much more even in it's current state. I want to see it become more mainstream and to push future games to be as good.
Besides which, this game crosses so many genres. Some people think of it as a tower defense game, a role playing game, a survival game, a sandbox game... I could go on. So even if horror wasn't in vogue, horror isn't the first tag a lot of people would slap on 7DtD anyway.
I know of a Medieval Mod and a Sorcery Mod, either of which you may enjoy. I think they're more about fantasy weapons than fantasy enemies, but as Shurenai suggests mods would be your best path to what you're looking for. The developers have said that, even when they get the promised bandits in, zombies will always be the primary antagonists in this game.
It is barely a survival horror as well. My automatic turrets and my M16 are here to prove that.
To your luck, this platform is highly moddable, so you can add as much elves, trolls, goblins and orks as you wish.
However, I think most of the added monster/animal movements looked really stiff and unnatural. And I think the NPC/villagers were generally hostile as soon as you looted their place (unless, I'm mixing the NPCs up with another game).
Besides, this is a survival game with horror elements, not a horror game and not a survival horror game (Survival Horror game being a game set in a specific location with limited ammo management, inventory management, backtracking and puzzles ala Resident Evil/Dino Crisis). Not to be confused with surviving and horror.
Yes. i am also waiting for a low fantasy game such as this, but don't get your hopes up.
Try Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. No world building, but an impressive immersive sim with great combat and objectives.
There is also Mount & Blade where you can roleplay if you wish. Warband or Bannerlord. No building, again, but there are trades, weapons, factions and much more.
I say this game is one of the popular games on steam
this game is mainstream, its one of the top games to play with friends on steam.
Emperion would have hooked me if the mining had been more like 7D. However if the 2 games merged somehow, Zombieees in SPACCCCCEEEE would be ok with me
Hell look at the demand that still exists for PT. That wasn't even a partially developed game. It barely went anywhere.
Coincidentally, I just found out that Space Pirates and Zombies has some nice general purpose emoticons.
