FEEDBACK: Color text every 7th day to red
Some servers go on for hundreds or thousands of days. There is sometimes miscommunication on which day is going to be the 7th which leads to an interesting night... Although one could calculate the 7th day with a calculator, I have a simple suggestion I feel a lot of players would benefit or appreciate.

Every day, Day #### is in white text. On the morning every 7th day, change Day #### text to red. After hord night, change Day #### text back to white. It will be very clear if the hord night is approaching.

not a bad idea :) i was playing on a server that was nearing day 1100 and i got sick of whipping the calculator out .. turns out there is a handy free app for android that you can input the day you are on and it will tell you when the next blood moon is.. i found it very useful when i was playing on servers

Severs have management tools avaliable. On our server we have text in the chat window that says how many day until horde night and on horde day it says in red its " horde night " Admin can set the server to post any message they want.

This isnt something the devs will do as its already available to server owners/admins.

What about just normal player playing for long time?

I take no credit for the pic, but seeing as it exists... Well there you have it.

Edit: I guess if you make it past night 1512 you are on your own again though ;P

A little trick if you really, REALLY don't want to do divisions, just go with approximations...

(Example with Yama's day)

1512=200*7+112...
...200*7+10*7+42...
...210*7+6*7...
...216*7=BLOOD MOON!

Pretty certain I have never done 1500 days in one game, so rather than "my day" it was just the last one on that chart someone else made before you will need math ;P

i on my server forum put the details for next bm and trader restock, think it would be a goos idea to put the white txt to red as soon as the bm arrives. would like to see the old system for bm where just the moon is red. just a thought while im at it what about changing the colour of the weapon sights, its a pain if it snows you cannot see the white sights

I'd love to see a feature like this. Alternatively, they could switch from absolute days since start (which are much less relevant now that the day doesn't affect the makeup of the horde) to days of the week. The blood moon would always come Saturday night.

If I know it's Day 158, I have to do math before I know how much time there is to prepare. Knowing it's "Wednesday" would be much more relatable.

I'll play devils advocate here because ultimately I really do wish that the horde nights were not on a clock aka every 7th night. It would be a much better experience I feel if they happened when RNGesus decided they do. Game stage would still dictate the difficulty, however imagine being out on a looting run when dusk came around only to discover it just so happens to be a blood moon night.

The way it is now we're sitting on a pile of ammo behind a wall (or some similar setup) as the sun dips for a night we know is going to have a blood moon. So people are ready. I doubt I am alone in thinking the panic of a sudden horde night you did not know was coming, has come. Would serve to spice things up a great deal. As well as add a challenge and new threat.

I'm not sure thename of the game would work so well if they did this. Never the less I'd be open to some form of randomization, even if it was could be on any night that is a multiple of 3 or some such thing. Who knows it could even make cheese events like running from a horde on a minibike a viable tactic required to make it through a night...

I should also add that for this to work there would have to be a grace period of say maybe 7 days or so before the 1st one hits. Before RNGesus grabs the wheel and plays with the payers fate...

I just have a cron job on my machine that announces the days to next horde every morning on the servers. I think Alloc wrote it. Not sure though. Been using it a long time.

What I do is I have what I call my bulletin board. On a wall in my base I have two wooden signs.

One says:
Next Hoard
Day xx

The other says:
Trader Respawn
Day xx

It only takes a few seconds to update each one after each event. Works like a charm for me.

That's actually a great in-game solution and idea! :steamhappy:

I used the 2 signs idea back in a15, when i used to have a base with traders at bottom, Does work fine as long as you get regular visitors to your base, Thats why i post the next horde and trader restock on out forum for those that want to know before comming back on the server, I have found some players do try to avoid horde night as they dont want the hassle of repairing their baees.

So as if calculators and computers are not enough now you even want video games to keep you from having to do some simple math? Better hint that cost the devs nothing. Go by Google Home Mini then she can do all that simple math for you just by asking her. I mean can you be any lazier than to suggest this? Wow!!!

I know this is mean but I am sorry it needs to be said to OP over and over. I just do not get it. No matter the 0s you add you will still have 7,14,21,28,35,42,49,56,63 in the number for the 7th day. I know some places no longer teach math as why bother PC will do it right? Well we still have things you must use cash for and those collectors will get nice tips if you can not count.....
