No problem... Joel said more will come for each of the book series. :lunar2019coolpig:
Yay more books ( sarcasm )

That's what he's covering now... there's plenty more to show about A18 of course. Point is the book series have been created by MM himself, so he's probably more keen to show them.

If you want to see some A18 gameplay instead, you can watch videos on his YouTube channel.

Not sarcasm from me...I think the books are a GREAT idea. Now if they will just go back to everyone has all skills and they get better by using those skills ala Oblivion. They could then also add books to just increase your skills a percentage point or two as loot.

I want to have to find books to craft the forge etc... like in the OLD days. Some people hated it, but to me it was the most immersive system.
It was great util you got rng that refused to give you a minibike book or a crossbow schematic. I like the randomness but in the end I want a means to progress that doesn't rely on blind luck. These books will be cool because you don't NEED them.

It should be fun trying to complete the collections and benefiting from the effort. I imagine it also might be quite difficult in an 8k world with no loot respawn.

I'm not sure if I would like LBD to come back to be honest... the part where you train skills that you use (and like) to get better is great, but then again with LBD you're literally FORCED to train also skills you don't like but still NEED to succeed in the game.

That's why the skill point system feels more appropriate for 7DTD.
You play the way you like and then put points on whatever you need...:cozytf2mug::cozyspaceengineersc:

Got to disagree with you on this one brother. Buying abilities just dont feel natural. If they added skill point books as loot, that could alleviate SOME of the things less commonly trained. To me the skill point system was a major shift from a survival game to an arcade/console game...

I know, we have different views on this, but that's allowed right? :lunar2019grinningpig:
Anyway finding books, as some other said, is too random. With the current system I play the way I like and then spend my earned points on what I need.

I agree that it's not "natural", meaning that it takes away from "realism"... but com'on! this is a game after all and we already have tons of compromises in 7DTD (and other games) so why not having one more for the sake of a funnier gameplay? :lunar2019smilingpig:

Never once in 2700 hours of play, more offline did i not find the book I needed. Some games ..yeah I had to search far and wide...but that was the beauty of it. It forced me to explore, take chances, .. I wouldnt call it blind luck but more of a real world scenario. The ease of the point system is what has taken some of the magic from the game.

Yeah, that's true, but it will come back with the book series in A18 without compromising the leveling mechanics (like LBD would do) IMO.

Of course we can disagree buddy, but even you have to admit..the game lost ...something. What is the motivation to explore....you can just kill zombies, which a lot of people say you are forced to now, to earn your skill points. "I killed 58 zombies and therefore I deserve a forge'...
What is LBD?
