Zombie hit range
The zombie hit range seems a little obnoxious. Like when I am out of range I still get hit by the zombie.

I never really had any problems with their range, are you trying to kite them?

yes they seem to have the same reach as you do even if your using a bat, best part is when miss point blank.

You can't let them get any closer than 10 feet, before you jab them with your 5 foot spear. They just need to tighten up the interaction distance a bit.

Zombies have a reach of 1.65-1.8 blocks, The -shortest- range a player has, with the leather fist wrap weapon, is 2 blocks. The hunting knife is 2.5 blocks, most other melee weapons are right around 3~ blocks, the fire axe is 3.2 blocks, as I think is the baseball bat -- And the spear has an insane reach of 4 blocks.

Every method of attack at your disposal is longer than the zombies reach. You can literally box a zombie down with the fist weapon without the zombie ever getting to swing by rhythmically tapping S, because you dont get into its range for it to attack, and hover just outside its reach.

So, There may be some latency issue you're experiencing, try using the 'gfx af 0' command from the console while in game and see if the issue persists.

Or, alternatively, A second possibility is that you are -dramatically- underestimating your own reach with any given weapon.

Usually these kind of complaints stem from not understanding the new rage mechanic fully.

Check xml files, sledge and bat have 2.6 block range, club 2.2, spear maybe 2.8 not sure I don't use it. Thing is if you place 2 blocks between you and the zombie you will miss him with sledge 50% of time even with 2.6 block range. Something is wrong with new glancing system.

They should first fix hitboxes. Sick and tired when my cursor aims at head, sometimes torso and i deal no dmg like my hit goes through him and he suddenly slaps and stuns me with single hit.

The melee still needs some work. I'm still seeing what should be solid hits completely miss.

Iv gotten enough close fights with zombies at this point to say the melee range itself is fine, you just have to watch out for the pre-emptive swings they like to throw at you as your approaching, always juke the first attack (I like sprinting at them then stopping a couple blocks away, always mangles the AIs calculations.)

I tend to find the closer something is to you the higher the chance you miss, vultures take up your entire screen when the pounce but frequently dont get hit in return.

I recently tried the sledgehammer in A18 and it seems to be really short reach compared to the Z's.
