First aid bandage alternative recipe
People should be able make first aid bandages with grain alcohol and cloth. Grain alcohol can be looted and made anywhere on the map, aloe plants only spawn in desert environments and for many people the nearest desert can be miles away. With blood draw kits being taken out of the game, blood bags can now only be found rarely from looting. Putting in this recipe will make first aid bandages more easily accessible to everyone. I'm not saying the recipe with aloe cream should be taken out, I just think there should be a second recipe added that makes basic healing available to everyone instead of making the people outside of desert biomes rely on treasured and rare first aid kits for healing.

Aloe can easily be farmed in farm plots as well. Add in some perks for living off the land and you can stack aloe cream fairly high without leaving your base

Blood draw kits are still in the game

Yeah, I've gotten aloe farms running without having to go to a desert just by finding the seeds in the trash all over. Just looted a blood draw kit too, so they're still a thing.
Wholeheartedly agree,

Grain alcohol got so little use in A18, its not like you can spamcraft bandages with it either as grain alocohol is not oftenly found in loot.

Only when you have a chem station it can be produced, and u need corn meal for that right?

Either way getting bandages and kits from trader quests make harvesting aloe for bandages a waste of time as traders will overflood you with healing items.

Simple healing should be more available early on without having to spend like 7 points into intellect. Until you do that or get lucky with schematic drops, your only way to really heal is finding pain pills or tons of food.

Most of people who complain about low drops on healing items and antibiotics and needing to perk into intellect early start their first day with fist weapons or spear that does 10 damage. Those weapons can be good, but not while wearing only plant fiber clothing and not without some perks into weapon/armor skills. Don't expect to go naked in hand to hand combat (where you have 100% chance of getting hit by zombie) and endure everything from day 1.
After that, once you get yourself a decent vehicle (motorcycle and above) there is no problem in going to the desert to harvest some aloe even if it's miles away. You can get enough aloe in 1 day to last you for next 100. Looting 1 pop n pills will fill you up probably for the rest of your days. Blood bags now drop 4-5 times more often than before and grain alcohol can now be bought in almost any wending machine.
Just don't go straight into combat with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ melee weapon.

Exacly. Keep to bow and arrow and club to finish them from time to time.

You have access to healing item early on, those are called bandages. You should not be able to go out there raiding large POI early on killing hunded oz zeds.

Bandages don't heal you at all. They restore your max health, but they don't heal your not-max health. Plus, grain alcohol is only used in ONE recipe, which is first-aid kits. Giving first-aid bandages a second recipe, I will stress this again, KEEPING THE ALOE CREAM RECIPE, to use grain alcohol to make first aid bandages will provide people a means getting basic healing. It can take some people a very long time to find a first aid kit schematic, for me it took a WEEK one time. Sure you can loot a Pop 'n Pills pharmacy, but those are full of sleeper zombies, LOTS of sleeper zombies, same with every other specialty store. You need to be well-equipped already to fight all the zombies that hide in those stores, while my idea is meant to help people that don't have a lot to work with yet.

That's the thing: The very first point in Living Off The Land already doubles crop yield.
...so you are more right than you let off one could say ;)

Aloe Cream heals you and can be made from day 1 with no points.

Food also heals you, quite a bit actually.

You can put 1 point into health regen and get healed that way

etc

So there are a decent amount of options early game for healing
