how to adjust hunger/thirst level?
Hosting server for my friends. I can adjust some things in there but there is nothing for hunger or thirst. Is there a command I can add?

just get some XP and put it into The Camel and The Survivor perks. Job Done

Don't worry about it for a hosted server.

Hunger and thirst are not really an issue after about day 3 for an average player. I certainly would not waste skill points on Camel and Survivor as suggested above.

So basically is there a way to remove one of the core parts of the game?

Lengthened the days, feels stupid having to eat all the time. Just wanted to adjust it accordingly: double day, half hunger and thirst.

AFAIK it's hard-coded at the moment (with plans to be in an xml SOON TM)

One way around it is to change the amount of hunger/thirst replenished (items.xml)

So for instance, as you've doubled the day length, you could double the values for Charred Meat from-

<property name="Gain_food" value="10" />
<property name="Gain_water" value="-5" />

to

<property name="Gain_food" value="20" />
<property name="Gain_water" value="-10" />

Ah yeah that makes sense. A bit less convenient, but sounds like it'll do it.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

Animals seem to travel in groups, I went hunting outside my house at 6% hunger. I killed 3 pigs and a deer before coming back to cook and nearly taking damage from starving. Deer down with a sneak attacked stone arrow, 1 pig with arrow, 2 pigs with a barbed club...
Once you get used to it it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I have friends that refuse to play because of the constant need for eating and drinking. In real life a person can go 30 days no food, 7 days no water. I got its a game but at least make the food and drink I have last longer than an hour in game before im on the brink of death.

In this game you have to eat 2 boars and 50 eggs daily and drink 5 gallons of water. Nice necro of 8 years by the way lol.

Technically it's still relevant, even 8 years later. Afaik there's still no option to mess with hunger/thirst directly, you gotta mod .xmls to increase the gain of food/water as a workaround.

This aged like fine wine btw.
Information in this 8-year-old thread has become out of date over time, so we’ll close this thread to reduce confusion. If there’s an existing thread created during v1.0 or later, that’d be fine to add to.
