Remote controlling turrets
Is there a way to remote control turrets from a distance away?

Turrets are automatic. You can have them trigger via motion sensor or a pressure plate. No remote operation or manual operation of any kind exists though.

Uh... Untrue. Manual operation *is* a thing in the game. Go to the interact panel, click on the camera preview. You can not only rotate it, if you click, it fires the turret.

You can't operate it remotely, but you CAN operate it manually.

There's no real point to it, but it's a thing you can do.

As you said there is no point. I did not realize you could do it, but given that you can, why would you??

IMO best way is motion sensors and setting it's field of fire.

Honestly I don't even bother with motion sensors... Unless you're hooking at least 2 up to a single sensor, it's not enough of a wattage savings to care.

The only triggers I use are the ones that let me target traps at specific tiles or whatever. Pressure plates and tripwires, basically.

I find the motion sensors value outweighs the wattage used.

So is the argument that it's pointless or that it can't be done. I believe it was the latter. They were showing that it can in fact be done. That is the point, not whether it's good or not.

There’s no point in arguing over this nuance, when the thread has been dead for over six years. Please check the date when replying.
