better THAN, not "then". And I agree, it's easier to get and repair. Iron has slightly higher % of protection and comparing full sets you are better protected with iron, and the durability is also higher but I don't think it worths the materials
Iron is better. joe has a point about the resources, but in my experience if you are able to craft a workbench but are in need of iron to the point where you are concerned about the iron cost of armor then your doing somthing wrong. I only say that in this case b/c iron is pretty much inexhaustable. If we were talking about somthing like brass i would certainly be more conservitive.
Scrappy armour peices have slightly less resistances then Ironplate peices but if your wearing a 50 quality iron chest and loot a 200 scrappy chestplate.....take the higher quality item.

Just be aware thou, scrappy and Ironplate while kick ass, has LITTLE OR NO cold resistances. If you dont have a puffy or duster you wont last long visiting the great white freezer.
no when equal. use what you find or can make. it is a game yet maybe there should be uses like lighter where and heavy armor has a affect on movement where as scrap metal may have a lesser effect.

as it is it is no diff but armor diff.

thanks for the info this will help me on my new save i just made and i dont care about my spelling here of all places if i were going for a job interview or school then i would care
I prefer to get my armor from traders or from airdrops. I think it is a massive grind to get very good armor. Traders have many jobs which are worth your time. I usually get fetch missions since you can get the supplies and bolt out of there.
How did you even find this topic? It's ancient. But I can't imagine you searched it.

Dude...seriously.

better needs to be capitalized
the period goes inside the quotations, not outside
you dont begin a sentence with a conjunction
you seperate clauses with commas
worths is not a word

edit, oh and periods end sentences.<

hm, I don't recall scrap armor requiring a book. Iron armor is considerably stronger than scrap armor. I would not recommend using either though, as the reduction in run speed, and distance plus the drain on stamina during combat is crushing without skill in heavy armor, and if you have skill in heavy armor, you should be buying/making steel armor.
Holy crap i forgot this existed, this was a blast from the past.

It may have required a book in 2017 when this thread was started. Big reason why necroing is so frowned on. The mechanics have changed which just makes the info confusing.
Well said, Teresa. Thread closed for necroposting.
