Yes claim block will prevent other players from placing objects and building in the land protection area of your claim block.
thanks
What about friends?
just checked in they are friends added they can Build
Sweet. Would have sucked if you had to have seperate bases when playing with friends.
Claims area 25 blocks each way from the block. Also I just found out that if you have a claim block placed, you can pick up your forges, campfires, workbench, etc.
oo nice

Adding to this, on a server with PvP, it is usually a good idea to have multiple claim blocks that overlap eachother and essentially give the area double or triple coverage. While this does not boost the durability effect, it does help keep that effect active over vital portions of your base if the block gets broken. If several are scattered at random heights in the terrain under and around your base, it can become very difficult for people to break in or try to undermine your base.

Ive tried this with all our stations in our base (my claim block, i placed the stations, all were placed after the claim block) but have seen no way/option to pick them up.

Do you use a wrench? Someone said 'radial menu' command at one point but i could not produce a radial menu on them.

At first i figured it was because the stations had materials/items in them but could not get it to work with an empty workbench. We're on the latest experimental build as well FYI.
How do you get another Claim block then ? trader or can i build one ?
build with 50 forged iron
and you can remove your workbench\mixer\etc if you placed them in the radius of the block

Pretty sure the claim has to be placed before the workstation. also you just hold down e (or whatever the interact button is on you config) for the radial menu.

I definitely placed the claim block first, then the various work stations as i had read that was required earlier in the day before the play session. I'll triple check if i can produce a radial menu but wasnt able to desopite being able to for other items like the minibike or chests/doors

When placing an item you will see one of four colored placement shadows:

White: No Claim Block
Green: Inside your claim area
Yellow: Inside an Ally claim area
Red: Not placeable (Either inside a non-ally claim area or unplaceable location)

If an item is placed inside a claim area you control then you can hold down the "E" button to obtain the Pick Up icon (hand) from the radial menu. This will let you reclaim the item without destroying it. This is different then previously where you used a Wrench to reclaim an item.
If an Ally places an item within your claim area, only you can reclaim it.

It should be noted that destroying your claim block with a pick adds it to your inventory in case you want to move it
