Base Station 2.0 not detected
UPDATE: This discussion is old and I have no idea if this still works. I have upgraded to an INDEX. Those still needing help, put your base stations on the wall and put your tracker on, move around and it should show up. Good luck!

I've been trying for the past 4 hours to connect my base stations to my SteamVR.

I bought the trackers and everything and have been able to get them connected and working, but my base stations aren't being detected on the SteamVR. The light on them is green, but they aren't popping up on the connection on SteamVR. I connected them to my pc, tried changing the USB ports, restarted my pc, and even tried pressing the station's change channel button.

Even with the Bluetooth says not available. Can someone please help me out?

FOR THE OCULUS QUEST 2 USERS THAT ARE STRUGGLING WITH THE 2.0 BASE STATIONS NOT SHOWING UP ON STEAMVR.

My issue was that my base stations 2.0 wouldn't show up on the SteamVR. I was on this problem trying to find a solution for 8 HOURS when the answer was simple. Make sure that your base stations are on, but the first thing you want to do is make sure one of your trackers is on and you're set up and ready to go. With the 2.0, I didn't have to plug it into the pc to have it update. Turn on your trackers and make sure they are connected to SteamVR the same way that ThrillSeeker did. Once that is connected, make sure you're in view of the base stations, put it on your body, and move around a little. The base stations should eventually pick it up and appear on the SteamVR if you did it correctly.

I looked for a solution to his issue for 8 hours and managed to figure it out when I gave up and just tried to play to see what happens. Base stations 2 need to have something to track be picked up on SteamVR. I really wish they included this information somewhere that everyone could see.

Hello! I no longer use this form of VR. My best answer would be setting up your base stations, make sure they are on and then put on your trackers and move in front of them for a bit. They should pick up on SteamVR. I am sorry if this doesn't work but I won't be able to assist any longer since I don't use this VR set up anymore.

Can anyone CONFIRM for CERTAIN--whether or not trackers are needed for base stations to be able to work? Some articles that I've read say YES, some say NO.
I have ONE Steam base station 2.0 that I am TRYING to be recognized by SteamVR.
(It is quite "ingenious" to create VR headsets that can NOT track LEANING movements!)
First, SteamVR no longer shows the VR icon that provides access to the SteamVR settings.
There's not a lot to the base station. Powered on, the base station shows up in devices on PC.
Which magic is necessary to get SteamVR to recognize the base station? What more can be done? I've tried all of the suggestions, tips, and tricks that I've found thus far on the internet.
Is there some software that needs to be downloaded? My base station is just an inoperable decoration on my wall right now!

Base stations just work by sweeping the room with lasers, they will just start working automatically when you plug them into power, and don't need to communicate with SteamVR to function. If a tracked device can see the laser from the base station, it will show up in the SteamVR interface.

You don't need a tracker specifically, any device with 2.0 lighthouse tracking will be able to see the base station. What devices are you trying to get working?
